bushwhacker
Hi. Does the axillary belt tensioner come apart or should I not go there? Done the wee bearing on the small pulley but I still have a squeal is there any other bearings I can change. The belt runs fairly tight, should it? Adam001
I assume you are talking about a 300tdi. Quite often the pulley can be fine, it's the belt that can squeak, this happened to my friend when she changed the tensioner and belt at the same time, swapped to the old belt and the squeal went away. maxtherotti
have also heard of the tensioner wearing internally so pully runs at a slight angle causing noise
bushwhacker
Sorry yes the 300 tdi The tensioner pulley does run a bit of. New belt first. Can the tensioner be opened?
maxtherotti
i belive once the tensioner arm starts to run off its either put a penny/washer behind it to level it up or new unit time
