iainb
Hi Has anyone changed the steel water rail assembly. Is it possible without stripping out the radiator, intercooler etc? Can it be done from underneath? Thanks
gadget
It can be swapped out from underneath. A couple of bolts hold it to the chassis and there's a metal peg that sits in a plastic grommet on the passenger side. It's a bit of a fiddle to get it sited, but doesn't take too long to do. Have you priced up a replacement yet? Be sure you're sitting down when you do
iainb
Just picked up your reply as I'm just back from A&E having ordered said part! You've put a bit of a smile on my face nowing it can be done. Thanks.
gadget
I changed mine earlier this year. Hardest part is getting the sodding undertray off. I never bothered refitting mine. My rail had a leak on one of the bracket welds. I'm still recovering from the cost of the replacement.
iainb
Yes, I'm finding the undertray a real pain as I've got asteering gaurd. Has yours been ok minus this dirt, oil and watertrap?
