wiring a radio

Tank

Recommended Posts

As i said earlier i am, eventualy when i get round to it, putting a radio in my 2a. Can this be wired straight from the ignition feed, meaning it will turn off when the ignition turns of, or will it draw too much. They are only small 80W speekers.

Thanks

are you talking of 2 * 80Wrms speakers? have a look in the manual for the head unit and see what the maximum input current is and this should aid you in determining whether it's feesible or not

Not knowing what else you have on the ignition circuit, I'd recommend a switched feed from the ignition switch to switch a relay, so that the main power feed is then taken from the battery, through the relay when the ignition is on and then feeds the system, loosely speaking 15Amps~ is a bit much to add in with everything else on the ignition switch
