Highland gow
My Disco 300 has just failed its MOT.It requires some wielding done to it. I have done some wielding in the past but was wanting some advice on what thickness of metal to use on the repair. I am needing to wield the front sill and a bit at the back chassis near tow bar. Can anyone help please. Cold and alone in the wildness
bushwhacker
Hi. Try and use the same gauge material as was there before, in both areas if that makes sense. You could go up a 1mm or 2mm on the gauge, but definately not thinner. Try to fillet the repairs it will look much better. Good luck. fozsug
1.5 to 2mm thick will be fine or buy complete sills and rear cross member http://www.yrm-metal-solutions.co.uk/discovery-nall9curpage-2-9-c.asp
