stuck
Gent's, I'm sure this has been asked a million times but search doesn't tell me the answer. I've agreed to replace the rear cross member on a mate's (Diesel)90 at the weekend, the welding isn't an issue but I'm not sure what I should disconnect before I get the MIG out. ECU? Alternator? Anything else? Thanks, Mick.

LandyManLuke
I've done plenty of MIG repair work on my 200tdi, I just disconnect the battery.
nick w
think you are ment to disconnect the altanator due to the diods or something
pooler70
I have only ever disconnected the battery and replaced rear cross member with custom built cross member, alot of welding involved. Also some patch repairs on chassis and fitment of a full roll cage. had no issues after re connecting the battery.
