Frogland
I'm going to be checking the valve clearances and I'd like the easiest method for turning the engine over.I remember someone explaining that it could be done by jacking one side up and turning the road wheel, is that right ? Matt Neale
I usually use a decent 3/4" drive socket and a ratchet drive on the nose of the crankchaft. Matt
Litch
Personally I just put it in gear and push the whole vehicle, it is actually very easy and you only have to move it a VERY short distance so even if (like me) you are working in an enclosed space like a garage or carport it is not a problem. Of course the other way is to rotate the crank using the front pully bolt but I find it easier to move the vehicle. Jacking it up is not the way. LandyManLuke
Ratchet on the crankshaft bolt works fine for me, that way its easy to watch the rockers and valves too.
Reiny
Jack up one wheel, engage 5th gear and rotate the wheel slowly, keeping your eyes on the rockers.
