Gotta question that's bugging me a bit. I did my sills by cutting halfway up the inner and outer to good metal...

Outside a doddle, inside had to get under and weld upwards which was a f**ker to do....

I've seen people thou cutting 6 inch of the floor away so they can basically weld downhand all the time....can you weld onto the top of the box rather than the side of the box?....is this method better to do...even thou there's more welding, mostly its from above..

Just interested to hear other views..

She's gone thru 2 mots and it looks ok...good for a few years thanks to your posts mark...I was just curious with the cutting away of the floor and if it was poss to weld onto the top of the box...

I only cut mine out as it was rotten and was going to have to be replaced anyway and also I preferred to remove all the existing sills and replace with heavier box section. It just happened that doing it this way seemed to make the job a bit easier to do. hth
