advice on selling land rover

Recommended Posts

Hi all

After 3 years of enjoying my Land rover due to family committments I no longer have the time to give it the attention that it deserves, so I have decided I have to sell it.

I know this isn't the selling forum but at the moment it is purely advice that I am after.

I have a 1995 defender 110 with lots of history, MOTs/receipts etc It is due for it's MOT this week so it will have 12 months MOT and 7 months tax.

It has a 300tdi engine which always starts first time and an R380 gearbox which I've been told is the better one. It is in reasonably good condition for it's age but needs some minor attention (eg second row doors need repairing, which most seem to do) see pictures below.

It has 3 front seats which I have the cubby box to replace middle seat if you prefer it.

There are no second row seats but two 3 person bench seats with seatbelts.

I also have two spare wheels.

The tires have plenty of tread left and in the last twelve months it has had a new water pump, new alternator, new viscous fan and blades and cowling, rear heavy duty springs fitted standard height, and the rear crossmember with extensions replaced, (which you would expect for it's age)It has also had a new front standard bumper and front passenger bearings seals and swivel housing replaced and the right front swivel housing large seal replaced.

In the three years that I have had it it's never let me down and starts first time even in the winter.

It has 111,000 on the clock (for a 16 year old that's not bad)

As I mentioned at the beginning I am only looking for some advice on what sort of price to ask for.

A very sad boy :( to see it go

Roy

ps yes I do know it wants washing ;)

I have just sold a 110 200tdi in very similar condition with 100k on the clock for £3.5k

I would expect yours to be worth a bit more than that - £4k ish?

As tends to be the case with these its worth as much as the next man wants to pay for it - souring ebay will give you a range of prices from £3k to £10k!!
