pete300tdi90
Hi, I have a Td5 (non Air con) and have added a 2nd alternator where the AC sits. I have removed pully to make it a better fit however the belt is now to short... I went to get a slightly longer one from John Craddocks and they suggested a non air con Td5 Disco might work... thats too big. What other belts can i try as the 2nd alternator can not be moved due to pipe work. Needs to be between Td5 defender and Td5 disco (what ever lenghts they are.) any suggestions would help. Bowie69
Normally the length of the belt is part of the part number - but even if not a motor factor will be able to tell you by looking up our two parts and you can then compare, and ask for a belt of that spec but at a specific length. The other way to do it is use a piece of string, wrap it round, push the tensioner in and mark the string with a pen, measure with a tape -go ask for a belt that length at your motor factor You say 'removed the pulley' which pulley do you mean? An idler or....?

Pete Try a "V" belt supplier; measure round the pulleys with a bit of string then phone these people: http://www.acorn-ind.co.uk/power-transmission/belts-pulleys?gclid=CMbI7Y3M8qsCFdRX4QodXxApww Hope that helps.
