shotrock Posted December 15, 2011 Share Posted December 15, 2011 Occasionally when changing from1st to 2nd gear there is a bit of a grounching. I am thinking the synchromesh is becoming warn. mudmuncher Posted December 16, 2011 Share Posted December 16, 2011 Depends when it happens ? Is it when the gearbox is cold eg the first couple of changes after start up ? I replaced my R380 and LT230 about a year ago with Ashcroft transmissions recon unit , I thought they would of been able to cure the 2nd gear cold box crunch but NO it still happen every morning . I don't think it will ever be cured it must be a characteristic of the r380 box I have heard that Difflock oil helps this but it's quite expensive and I haven't tried it yet Anyone confirm if it stops it totally or helps ???
