Ok first thanks for answering my intercooler questions but I have another couple

. Does anybody have any experience of upgraded turbos?

I am considering either a hybrid or a vnt. I am told the vnt does not increase bhp its just spreads the powerband, wheras the hybrid will increase bhp but will it increase turbo lag?

If I went for a vnt is it still best to upgrade the intercooler

thanks

Dave

I did both at the same time (my wallet is still hurting) and I am more than pleased.

If you have the chance, it's a mod well worth the €€€/£££.

My VNT is the same which comes with the 2.8 Powerstroke.

What I did to my 300:

Intercooler from Jon at Brunel, top quality stuff,

sadly I can't say the same for the customer care...

Thanks can you tell me what drivability is like? I mean do you have to rush up through the gears to keep the power on? and does it pull much better away from standing? and is the tourque band spread as well?

Any idea how it compares to a hybrid in terms of useful power?

sorry for loads of questions but like you say its a load of dosh and I want to make the best choice

thanks

Dave

Well you should try one yourself,

but driveability is improved, better pull away from stand as you say, more torque available, to make it short I'd say it turns the engine into something more modern...

I never driven a 300 with a hybrid turbo, only heard reports from a friend who ran a Mitsubishi hybrid in his Td5, now switched to a VNT...

I tried a stock 300 Defender 90, and it's weak compared to mine...

Sorry I can't help more...
