andy2986
Hi Guys, It would appear I have petrol in my Oil Brief history 3.9V8 running LPG on single point and mega squirt Ive been having some issues with it, Had some dodgy plug leads and the coolant sensor stopped working. Engine was running incredibly rich and finally stopped all together Plugs were completely sooted up/ oiled up i.e. wet and black. Fitted new plugs, plug leads and coolant sensor (thanks Nige) thought i would change the oil, its just come out stinking of petrol and with the constancy of water!! Would running rich have done this ? Or is something else more sinister afoot ??? It was a while before I could do all this so it was standing for a while with ( I guess ) petrol soaked cylinders Oh, theres no loss of coolant Help Guys!!! Bowie69
IIRC Tim Jones had a simialr problem with his V8, so sounds like it is a possibility.
garyjrode
Hi, there. I had a similar proble with a VW golf, when park on a slope/ hill with the engine at the lower end, fuel would fill into the cylinders and buy pass the rings. Turned out to be a fault with the carburettor, fuel would drain through when left standing. Worth a look, hope it helps.
