foggy3061
There certainly are some good lanes, not too far from you either. Have a look at my post in this thread (post 5), there are links to all the green lane maps and lane info: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=76332

axlechorus
Be aware there are a fair few issues in the lakes with regards landslips on various lanes in the area so best check for any VRs etc with the routes there are also a couple with 1 ways which I believe are findable in the Hierarchy of Trails from memory. foggy3061
The links to all the info (as I mentioned above): Looks like a good day out! That lane is the High Tilberthwaite lane, UCR U5001, very good lane, but is one way only for 4x4s - south to north (Tilberthwaite to Langdale). http://www.cumbria.g...39492132711.pdf http://www.lakedistr...cbill100707.doc Also, careful using the ford – it’s no longer a right of way and is access only. There are people living in the houses on the Langdale side that WILL report you if they see you driving it. The pub just up from the ford is the three shires inn, good choice of real ales on in there and very good food too! Just for your information, Links on the page to the lists of the 15 BOATs, 60 UCRs and the management in place on them: http://www.lakedistr...ors/green_roads OS Maps of the routes and info on each: http://www.cumbria.g...ails_Routes.asp
