  1. Can do Gloucester/Worcester to cheadle Heath 3 times a month or so with work
  2. One of us has done so already using the details leafleted out at the Malvern Land Rover show a few months ago, it appears we ar being targeted specifically here in South Worcestershire at the moment. There is the argument of hiding in plain site mind? Apologies, I had not considered it the other way around there, my lack of foresight, mods is there a way this post can be moved to a members only area or erased once it's purpose has been served so no one can dig it up in future? I hope so, it's just the nature of coming into the car park, swiftly round the back then back out the front pulling opposite one of only two cars in the car park and then heading off at speed in the same direction. Not really a pattern of life behaviour. Security is already fitted and we seek to block it in at night, not that that helped a local one which was in a locked barn blocked in by another pickup when that was taken overnight,
  3. I don't know if I am being parnoid but just so others are aware I believe my Land Rover was clocked/eyed up by the occupants of another Land Rover 90 in South Worcestershire near Pershore this Sunday evening just gone. This 90 came in the front of the near deserted pub car park, went out the back past the pub then came back out and sat opposite mine at the end of the car park by the road for about 2 minutes before heading back off at speed in the direction it came. I don't know if I'm just being over sensitive given the number that get stolen and someone was genuinely lost/wondering if the pub looked good for Sunday dinner (i.e. Are there any customers?) still I thought I'd best share encase anyone else has seen the same vehicle acting in a dodgy way or knows that my concerns are misplaced. The vehicle in question was a very shiny and smart dark blue de cat TD5 blue 90 with a white Roof and aftermarket alloys of the terrafirma variety with BFG all terrains. Reg number as we clocked it back is **** NWA and pictured below. I don't know if as a member of jolly public I can look up where this machine is registered, I'm sure there must be a way for those who want to mind?
  4. On a rugby shirt would have one of those and maybe a polo shirt as well for good measure. Roll on another 10 years
  5. Agree, 265/75 R16 STT and I cannot fault them even compared to the BFG KM and KM2 MUDs we have had
  6. You can convert nectar points to ebay vouchers, just before Christmas last year there was a good deal that you got back 50% of the value of the points you cashed in almost as cash back.
  7. I couldn't help but share this when trying to order a second one of these for another vehicle after being impressed with the first one, which genuinely does go on and off in less than a minute once you get the knack of it!
  8. Unfortunately I have evicted the back seats from the 90 now else it would be a much more comfortable way to spend a weekend than outside marshalling
  9. Unless your earth is not brilliant, I.e. It can take the power required for a 'normal' start however not the amount required for a cold start whilst that could be supplied by the new battery (assuming it has the correct CCA rating).
  10. Where abouts in oxford/Swindon area? I often run between south worcester and Basingstoke/the south east and also go up into worcester from time to time. Ta
  11. My Grandad did the same for my Nan using a trusty wooden box step for the 26 years they had an original RRC
  12. I will second that for procuring parts for an X9 we have here, very reasonable prices if I remember correctly and the X9 is also a cracking winch because you can maintain and repair it to last for a very long time!
  13. As said it really is capitalism and the motor trade, it is untidy of the re-seller perhaps to make it so easy for you to draw the comparison mind as you know the figure they paid for it which could be useful leverage for someone. However at the end of the day if garages and dealers didn't sell on for more than they buy in then like all businesses they won't be around for very long. If people are being greedy then the market will self correct intime as purchasers won't buy at that figure as they don't see it holding that value then either that figure will come back down to align with the 'real' value of the item in the buyers eyes or they will go out of business through lack of sales.
  14. I would also suggest that you investigate and replace if required the stub axles as pitting and wearing of a grove on the flange end of the stub axle will seriously decrease the seal given by and lifespan of your new seals. Also if you do need to replace them don't forget the internal bearing and brass ring that needs to be added to the front stub axles prior to fitment otherwise you'll be cursing the need to go to the shops again!
  15. Are you after a CB or CD radio as you mix between the two in your post/title? If it's a CB radio then I would use a President Teddy available for around £50 at the lower end of the CB market we have one and it works very well and the automatic squelch control is a good feature! Regards
  16. Sorry to hear but very glad you are ok considering! Worth noting the value of a good 90 these days which could greatly influence the amount of repairs the could be done before the write of point occurs,
  17. Buy them, you won't regret it! Buy new, sell after a couple of years and then buy a new set again, strong residuals mean you should only be costing about £200 to always be on shiny new rubber. Kind regards
  18. 3rd location is in the bottom right corner of the windscreen as you look at it riveted down
  19. Seems a bit fishy, to be covered by the buyer protection I believe you need to pay to the address provided by the seller on the listing. Should this address not be setup then it will go unclaimed until added to a paypal account (I had an issue myself as a seller removing an email from paypal that was still live on a listing). If you have more than 1 paypal account then you can just shunt money between them as a gift transfer (your hardly going to con yourself) so I can't initially see where the seller is coming from with this request. If you go into your paypal does it give a status on the funds I.e uncleared?
  20. Slow failure of both sides would indicate to me something electrical as I wouldn't buy both motors packing up at the same time following the same failure path as well. My first port of call would be to check and clean both window switches, the isolation switch and the general wiring in the centre console as if both windows are mirroring each other then the fault logically should be on some part of the system that is common to both sides I.e. the base of the Y fork
  21. Sounds like either wheel bearings for the grinding noise or clicking for the CVs as said above, additional notes to the above is to make sure your swivels seals when replacing the CV otherwise they will end up dry and also to make sure your stub axle is in good condition where the seal goes at the back otherwise you'll get grit and water in the hub with the bearings and it will all go south from there. I would recommend Timken bearings around £25 a corner but worth the extra cost.
  22. I removed it on my old 200tdi and noticed no change bar it being easier to bleed the system, it didn't feature on 300tdi models from my memory so maybe that tells you something as well. Kind regards
  23. Nothing illegal with this to my knowledge, there is no law against the removal of passenger seats. Just make sure you don't fall foul of being overloaded from a weight point of view, Good point earlier about driving at night, that or make sure your headlight adjusters work so you can stop and adapt them. Kind regards
  24. Hi, We need to put a patch on the osf outrigger on our 90 on the leading edge as it's rotten through. What thickness and grade of steel is required/ would you recommend for this? Also any other tips welcome Kind regards
