SharkyMarc
Hi All, I've just got my hands on a 1999 300Tdi Disco Auto with cruise, and I've worked my way through the standard gremlins, all pipes now seal tight and the pump runs when connected to a battery. For the purpose of a trip next week, is there a way of rigging up a direct feed on a switch to the vacuum pump to make it work temporarily until I find the real cause of the issue? Cheers in advance
teabag
Cruise control has a few things that can be iffy such as the an ecu, brake switch and speed sensor so in the intrest of safety... No.
TheRecklessEngineer
Yes, but it's likely more effort than making the system work in the first place. There's actually valves in the pump as well as the motor, so you need the right combination of valve+motor to make it work.
