bluespanner
Has anyone tackled one of these? I see the kits are available, but I don't want to get half way and then require a £500 special tool or something Good afternoon Roland
Ally V8
I have advised two of my customers that their cars have this problem.... One is going to trade it in for a later FL2,the other is oblivious and will drive it till it seizes up or goes bang.So as yet I havent done one.I did ask on our private LR forum and the answer I was given is that the proceedure on Topix is fairly accurate as in what you need to actually do,and its 2-3 hrs work from memory. There is a special tool available from Dingocroft,(Approx £150) to do up the pinion nut.It seems that the wisdom is that it would be difficult to do it properly without this. Also beware that the prop carrier bearings can fail as on FL1's - and sound like a failing diff bearing....
