Mariner
Hi, Series 3 with parabolics front and rear. Generally runs well and ride is as expected. However during last MOT it was pointed out that the fold over on both front bushes touches the main chassis above the bolt mount. Can anyone give me any pointer to the cause- can it be worn bushes (my main thought) though it does not look like they wre out of position. Just like some input before I shell out for new high quality ones. The present ones are about 7 years old but the truck gets very little use and is maintained in a garage all year round. No photo at present but will upload if this could help.
Serious Series
Depends on the manufacture of the springs I believe Britpart had a bad batch of springs with that problem ie the wrap around section was too high. If bushes have failed they can be moved in the mounting.
Phil Hancock
Bearmach had the same issue some years back, the cure was heat the outer eye with the oxy torch and close the eye a bit so it then cleared.
Snagger
The LRM magazine, Britpart sponsored and conducted build showed the same problem with their new springs. Not a great advert for their products. They did the same thing once the fault was spotted. Shame they didn't repaint the spring eds before refitting - the scorched and blistered paint didn't look that neat against a galvanised chassis and newly painted panels!
