ABS WARNING LIGHT PROBLEM

Ok this is a friends Disco

Discovery 2 year 2002

ABS warning light

And its coming up with a near side electrical fault ...They clear the fault and its ok for a good few miles then comes back again

Any ideas any one. ???????

Ok it was purchased as a new assemberley ...wheel hub, senser etc ....he did find a post saying to plug the new senser dircertly in the back of the ECU rather than in the plug on the inner wing but no explanation why ??????

To bypass a faulty wiring harness?

Just because the assembly was sold complete, it doesn't mean that it doesn't need adjustment. ABS sensors need to be very close to their exciter rings, though should not quite touch them as they are easily damaged.

SOLVED plugged back directly into the ECU and BINGO A land rover technician for 24 years came to pick another car up and said try it as its a very common problem Jobs a good un all dun and mended said the wiring and plugs build up resistance and become over sensitive. he had cases where all four had to be re wired
