Anglo-Frenchman
Can anyone recommend a good sound insulant that can be used under the floor mats and that won't turn into a soggy mess during wet weather?
Andy
dyno-mat is what a mate i used to have who built national comp spec car stereos used to use. roofing felt is almost identical, just glue it with waterproof glue. infact i think he did half of his 2nd car with roofing felt & that still won comps - you need insulation to stop it vibrating & to keep the sound in for higher volumes incase your wondering. dyno-mat looks the same as the black pads glued to the floor/bulkhead etc from new & roofing felt is just a bit rougher which helps the carpets stay still. jjojjas
Not cheap (£250), but excellent. http://www.jojas.co.uk/soundproofing.htm Jas
Anglo-Frenchman
My eardrums thank you for the information. I will check out both suppliers to see which is more suitable. By the way Jas, with the Wright system do you chuck out the existing carpet or does this system lay over the top of it?
