Pollywog
What's the type 50 servo? I've got the early servo. The servo is smaller than the later ones, but the master is much bigger with 2 outlet ports. The type 50 is the earlier Defender servo, slightly deeper than the Series servo, mine came off a 200tdi. The later Defender servo is the type 80 which is much larger diameter, I think they switched at the 300tdi probably to match the introduction of rear discs? The Defender pedal assembly will bolt straight in to a Series but the pedal kicks to the left so needs straightening, depending on your wings you may or may not need to trim to allow a type 50 to fit, I had to notch my wing slightly but mines a lightweight. Tanuki
Neat! The good thing about using M16 calipers is that there's a whole range of pad-materials available to fit: alas the old Mintex M1144 compound which we used in the 1980s on road-rally RS2000 Escorts etc is now banned because it has asbestos in it - and the modern 'organic' materials [which apparently contain ground-up Brazil-nut shells!] are nowhere near as good - they have a tendency to crumble round the edges when you're enjoying yourself and getting some heat into the brakes. aaronledwidge
Interesting stuff this, I'm running 1144s on my track car and there not a bad pad. I've not noticed any crumbling mind and they have taken some abuse. I doubt ill go for posh pads because of the nature of what there going through. There only going to get contaminated etc.
