dirtydiesel
I have a problem with a 300tdi automatic gearbox i bought off a user on here a few years ago. I bought it as a working box, and it's been in storage until today when we fitted it. And we have no drive at all. It doesn't seem to be pumping any oil. I have dropped a cooler pipe off when idling in neutral and it's bone dry despite being halfway up the dipstick? The torque converter hasn't been out of the bellhousing since I bought it and I checked it was fully engaged in the oil pump before fitting. I haven't changed the filter, I cannot see the filter could have dried up or blocked though. Any suggestions?

dirtydiesel
It was left as I bought it, before filling with fresh fluid today I drained off 2 maybe 3 litres of fluid
Boydie
The oil pump drive on the ZF4HP22 is very fragile and you could have possibly damaged it when you installed the box, if thats the case you will have no oil circulation and zero pressure to operate the box.
