dave88sw
Does anybody know the differences between the huge variety of options for exhausts on a disco 1 V8? I have a 97 with cats but i can't believe that land rover used different parts for centre and rear silencers, surely a non cat downpipe and a cat downpipe have the flange in the same place? Just one has cats and one doesnt?
Disco-Ron
From what I can tell, the cat version is different, the downpipe is one piece, not three, and the outlet is more inboard, where as the non cat is actually quite tight to the chassis...... j90 mud
There are. I think three versions. Original which is one piece from middle to back Aftermarket two piece with flange on rear pipe and aftermarket with no flange just a slip joint I think landorver went to a two piece one over the back axle during the production run. Auto to manuals spec are also different
dave88sw
Thanks guys, i was asking because my cats were rattling badly and i had planned to just get shot of them with a decat pipe. In the mean time, they've stopped rattling (loose bit must be jammed somewhere) so it's moved down the list of important jobs. I think though, i either need to find another cat fitted downpipe or convert to lpg (was planning to anyway) and then do away with them, otherwise i'll have issues getting it through its MOT in April. Thanks again Dave
