Overdrive fitting

I'm just refitting my overdrive and have a new lock washer to use with the castellated nut on the output shaft.

The lock washer has 3 tabs but they do not all line up with a 'space' on the castellated nut - is it necessary to remove 2 of the tabs leaving just 1 to bend over?

Thanks

Chris

Thanks Roger, thats what I was finding, the tabs that would not fold stand proud, will trim them down, was just worried that I had missed something!!

All the tabs need to be trimmed slightly, even a bent-over one can foul the OD when you refit it. Give it a try now you've done but if it doesn't fit it could be the tabs or a mis-alignment on the splines, rotating the OD input gear will sort that one.
