qwakers
hi guys i have a couple of cta12000 winches on my tray back. they've been working fine until the last trip out when i found that the winch will not hold when the trigger is released, it just slowly spools out. my question is how does the brake work on these? i've stripped and cleaned and regreased the whole winch but i didn't take the motor apart because i dont have the right size torx bit for the retaining nuts. is the brake in the motor or elsewhere? Lewis
I've never stripped one of these winches but in most cheap lowline winches the brake is inside the drum
qwakers
what usually goes wrong to stop them working? should there be grease in there?
