Muttland
Hi to all Y was adapter a R380+LT230 in my SIII 109. The TC 230 has a VDO electronic speedo transducer YBE 100530 (hall effect??) I would like to use a programable speedo to correct the differents gear, dif. relations, wheels, etc. What model VDO do you recomend me to use in conjuctions with the YBE 100530 TRANSDUCER? Is 4" the correct diameter? I w`like to have it in Km/h or combinated scale. Is the TD5 electronic speedo programable???? Is USA the best price place to purchase it ? Thanks Enrique
western
you need to swap the speedo drive gear that the transducer flits in to, on the transfer box you should find a large circular washer, prise this out & with a twisting motion extract the drive gear. Td5 speedo's have mph & kph on the face already, but the mph version shows the mph as larger digits & kph as smaller. the Kph version is obviously the opposite if you have 7.50 x 16 inch tyres fitted you need to use the blue FRC3310 drive gear as fitted to most 110's
Ex Member
That transducer will work. You do not need to change the drive gear. The speedos are fully adjustable and programmable for any transducer. Any 4" VDO speedo will work. The cheapest is the 120 mph model, model 437-155 http://www.egauges.com/vdo_mult.asp?Type=Speedometer&Series=Vision&Units=E http://www.summitracing.com/parts/VDO-437155/ Probably cheapest in the USA. I found mine on eBay for around $70, but I looked for quite awhile. edit: The kmh ones are REALLY expensive.... I gave up finding a cheap one and simply programmed the mph one to show kph. They are all EXACTLY the same physical units, just different faceplates.
Muttland
western & Red90 Thanks for your replaies The gear-box is from Def. 110 (1.4 TC) The wheels are 235/85/16 Mt Good. The difs are 4.7 originals from the SIII The Motor is still a Serie 2.25 d 300 TDI LR or 2.5 Maxion tdi or 2.8 Maxion tdi/tgv in the future. (In this case the 1.2 TC will be best no?) I used this page : http://www.landrovertec.com/LRTA_RCalc.php to analyze the final RPM-SPEED of my "hibrid creature". Enrique
Ex Member
It matters not with the VDO speedo. You can reprogram it in seconds for whatever you want. I run different tyres sizes and change it all the time. Very easy.

western
I should have put the wire colour codes as on that attachment B = Black = Earth/Ground RB = Red with a Black trace = the signal feed from the transducer to the speedo head GY = Green with Yellow trace = 12v power feed for the transducer.
