Sankey Dimensions

A Twig

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Need a favour as I'm designing an expdition trailer based on a Sankey. I have the tub internal and external dimensions.

I need the dimensions of the wheel arch boxes in the load area

The dimensions of the drawbars (width height, and how far apart they are when they meet the tub.)

Finally I need to know the height of the tub from the ground when level and unloaded.

Thanks!

OK, to try to explain better what I need, here's a picture with the measurements I need

post-4427-1236884854_thumb.jpg

A - distance between the inside edges of the chassis rails

B - Distance between the outside edges of the chassis rails

C - From front chassis crossmember to back of tab crossmember

D - Front of tub crossmember to back of draw bar cross brace

E - Front of draw bar cross brace to back of hitch plate.

Anyone? Please? I've scoured the internet for engineering drawings, but they don't seem to exist...

to build what? A Sankey chassis?

Would it be worth it? Your better off buying one complete. the cost of materials just for the chassis would be over half what you would pay for a complete trailer.

Has anyone done structural diagrams good enough to build one of these; assuming you cannot get one locally.

I think Hedley's (Madcowz) are the best around or the best I have ever seen, although you should be advised that the Sankey is over engineered, and thus a very heavy chassis so I am not sure if you were starting from fresh why you would want to build one, unless you want one to match a military truck. Saying that a Sankey in parts is worth far more than the sum of the whole, I would say it would be cheaper to get one in the UK and import it to Canada, there are a few people (some on here If I remember) that export trucks to Canada tagging a trailer into a container would reduce your costs.

I think it's more to do with his location Gareth.

Cheers, Jason.
