if you want to wild camp, blend in with the country side, and not look out of place parked in a farmers field whilst detecting, then personally i would have this one. looks better , but way overpriced I think for an 04 TD5, and whats with that 4" lift kit!! looks about to fall over, bet the uj's will have had a hard time coping with those angles. Agree std is best. A really nice totally std green TD5, with a white roof, and std white wheels wheels, is a rare thing nowdays, so much so, that they stand out more than one with all the bolt on tat. good luck with your search, and don't rush.

I've always fancied fitting a 110 1/4 chassis to a 90 that needed a replacement , then fitting a cut down 110 tub, so you get 90 wheelbase but with longer bed with the 110 overhang. I even cut and pasted a photo once, and I believe LR missed a trick here. It looks RIGHT! Much more useable space . Could have called it a 90 plus!

I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but that is just fu##ing awful! What a hideous piece of tat! ( sorry, that was own biased opinion, others may luv it🤡)
Dont know it's suitable for metal detecting or wild camping, be more use driving along Brighton seafront wearing a pink scarf.

did you fill the filter? Have you still got the old lift pump? maybe put that back on to try.Have you check you've not got a dodgy wire on the stop solonoid, (ignition on, pull wire off the solonoid, and it should click when you re attach the wire, but I expect you already know this.)

I always fill the flter with deisel, before fitting, start it up, then floor it , and it primes itself. The Delphi pump has a little screw on top, take this off and make sure the little gauze filter isn't blocked, if so just wash it out. But take off the filter again and fill it up before you try it again.

If you turn it over, how long before the gauge goes half way. If its instant, then suspect gauge or sender unit. Is there any water in it. What engine has it got now, and what did it leave the factory with?

I thought that all deisels were required to have DPF fitted from 2009?

I believe you can buy belt dressing. Or talc, to degrease it. When I worked on the drawing board, the tracing paper got greasy sometimes, and the ink wouldn't take, so we used something called 'pounce' IIRC, a sort of fine gritty talc, sprinkled on and brushed off with a cloth, et voila, no more grease.

if you want to check, then you can measure from c/c of hub, to eyebrow centre and compare, but you MUST do this on flat level ground, as its possible one wheel could be on a slight hump, and be pushed further up into the arch.

AFAIK its just the same all year round, no mention ever on pumps that it is winter grade.

Never try to recommend anything or anyone, it'll bite you on the ars#.
BUT as I tend to use veg oil blend a lot of the time,( unless its too cold), then I USE Mahle KC 38, about £4-5, supposed to be better for veggy fuels. Still clog up tho.

Ok, I wasn't trying to be clever, just noticed that they were brighter, and thought that could be a good thing. Anyhow just bought a pack of 2 5w, and put one in,....hmmmmm, that's still brighter than the other one, even in daylight. So I swapped the other one as well. This is what it looked like..

Is this normal aging or is it a type of 'silvered ' bulb. Never seen one like it. The other dead one was like it as well.

hmm, just read an old post on Def 2 ( 5 years ago) about this, and one chap fitted 10w bulbs, and eventually it melted/ deformed his lenses. Think I'll get 5w. Thanks all.

last night my front side light bulb went, so I replaced it with a spare. Then I noticed it was twice as bright as the other one. New one turned out to be 10w, old one was 5w. Makes a huge difference, but if I replace both fronts with 10w, is that too much for the fuse/ wiring of a 20 yo truck. I know it is a piffling 10 w total extra, but they fitted 5w for a reason. Any thoughts, or should I just refit a new 5w?

despite the petrol, it did it again today, only worse, so got home and changed the fuel filter, and I think that cured it. partially blocked, plus thicker fuel,= fuel starvation. It had lots of small black bits around the top. Must get some more now, t'was my last one.

^^^WHS. my old 2.5 na never got hot, well only when the rad sprung a leak. The na rad is huuge! As it's full width. Start with rad flush. Temp going up with forward motion is indicative of a blocked rad / stat. Ramming the air thro it at 55mph should be ample cooling. "Huston! We have a problem!
ps. Don't have a trendy 'rad muff' fitted do you? Took mine off months ago.
