buy some balls and hang them from string string and you have to touch them with parts of your vehicle within a set time in the small bowl 1/2 way up would be much better

I hear for some series you need a MSA approved roll cage for class 2 and 3. I have a custom roll cage but no idea if it meets the specs for the MSA, is this something i can get checked out when i turn up to an event or is it something that has to be done before?
I asume you are refering to challenge events, as the minimum level of protection for these events is a correctly fitted manufacturers hard top, although a roll cages or bar is recommended. it may how ever be in the event SR's that a cages is needed for class 1 and 2. the SR's will be event specific, have a look at the post below and have a look in section K of the current MSA blue book, the norm is front and rear hoop made from one pieace of bar. with front and rear hoop and rear stays going down to the chassi and welded or bolted to spreader plates. The best option is to contact the events you are wanting to enter directly to confrim.
have you got a photo of you vehilce I will have a look and see what we would say for our events if it helps Grim

photos from the event will be on the event website shortly

It was an excellent event - Alan and I throughly enjoyed it, even if we were the only class 3 motor. Thanks to all of the organisers - and everyone else who made us feel very welcone.
For those of you who saw me hobbling around with my twisted ankle - its just been x-rayed and is broken. So I'm now in plaster and on crutches Still i maaned to walk on it for 48 hours
Sorry to hear that hope its not too long till the plasters comes off. we hope to see you again at another event soon.

Thanks Matt, Barny and all the marshalls great event and a super site but like Twiggy said the camping and parking could do with being a bit bigger can't do Corwen but will see you all at Mow cop in October
Twiggy & John, all noted I was trying hard to keep everyone together, quite a lot of small tress had sprouted since we did the recce a couple of months ago and the grass area was not as hard as I was told it was. sorry we had to split some of you up.

Many thanks to Matt and team for putting on a good event at a site that has not seen a winch since 2006....
Nice to drive on terrain that has not been played to death, and will not be touched again until next year. Big site, and I don't expect to drive on any of the areas used today next time!!
And thanks also to Baggy & crew for the BBQ.
Thanks. Nick, no we will have looked at the other bit ready for next time, although there is plenty that we never used also in the area we used this time
