  1. If it is real powdwer: sandblasting will do the job. If it is plastic coating the ONLY way to get fully rid of it is heat! There are professionals which can do it but the easiest way is: pile some wood and burn it until all plastic is gone. CAUTION: probably illegal, may cause envoirment and health problems!
  2. We have fitted a lot of Truetrac and Detroit lockers in rear axles from 2002 on. Always with a spacer shim and longer bolts as recomended by ashcroft. Not so long ago i have seen an article in an LR magazine fitting a truetrac WITHOUT this spacer. We have been discussing this with our workshop team and from the first sights it looks possible. What are your thoughts about this?
  3. The motors etc. were from SPAL, so far so good. Unfortunately the wanted interface was not from SPAL. It looked a bit "homemade" but in a professional way (a blackbox leaking wires) So we need to try it out.
  4. Mileage is saved in the ECU! It will show exactly the same as before ;-)
  5. www.safari-equip.co.uk has those usualy from stock in several variations
  6. Hi, we need to retrofit central door locking system to Td5 with 10AS Alarm. Formerly we bought a interface from Falcon 4x4 to make a connection from the CDL to the 10As to use the LR key fob remote. These interfaces are no longer available. Does anyone here know how to wire this, or wherelse this interface could be available? THX for help Peter

  9. searching for an "all including" pre fabricated 2" body lift kit for a Defender. The usual suspects just offer ones for Disco and RRC. Any ideas?
  10. The D1 steel wheels ARE strong enough to take the 110 GVV. BUT they are not rated high enough for the 110 GVV, because LR did not intend the usage on the 100 for them. They are built for the D1, so they are rateted for the D1. This is a Problem here in Germany because it is illegal. Don't know about in GB. Peter
  11. You will need a new shorter propshaft as the Salisbury is 30mm longer
  12. The bodywork can be changed. The steering column will be the one of the newer vehicle. The interior is anyways not much different to a "modern" Defender. It will be a Td5 van /comercial and with comercials the restrictions are not that hard. The longer i think of it: 110 accident (no writeoff) WANTED!
  13. Yep, like the Autobox one. The green ones look good as well, even if i don't like "Kanistergreen" Kanister = Jerrycan in German I am still considering of buying a accident vehicle and but the SIII Stage 1 body of my Avatar on it.
  14. The ones i used had thicker grooved brake discs and the swivels were boltetd as usual. The same CV`s and shafts were used. Attention: there are wider axles available which have rare inner components like longer shafts! Be aware that you need a custom made 30mm shorter front propshaft!
  15. I am searching a 110 Hard Top from 2002 on and found a couple on www.defendercentre.co.uk Is there any experience known with that company? Are the vehicles really as good as statet with "comprehensive warranty" etc.? Any goods or bads? Please let me know here, via the board message or peter@nakatanenga.de ZHX Peter

  18. Does anyone know the gear ratio of the Borg Warner Transfer case of a 1990 3.9 V8 Rangie? The sticker on the box probably fell off ;-) THX Peter
  19. ...but the drum brake axles are NOT so easy to convert to discs! The rest of the swap is pretty straight as described above Peter
  20. hmmm, i've seen them once live.....but forgot to ask. Tailgates will be removed and replaced by a one piece, thin sheet aluminium part. But the doors are SO! heavy!
  21. Hi, i would like to change the 4 doors of our 3.9 Rallye RRC to GRP ones. Maybe the bonnet as well. Does anyone know a supplier of those parts? THX Peter
