Tear it up

Hi. I have a 300tdi auto disco1. There's a second cable from the throttle linkage to the gearbox, to operate the kickdown, I presume? I've got the problem of, whilst driving, if I go over 3/4 throttle it seems to jam and only changes gear at high revs. Had a look today and it looks a right bitch of a job, has anyone had this problem before and know how to solve it without taking half the car apart?

Thought I would join in the conversation and introduce myself as I am a new member. I have a 300tdi discovery, less than a week old (to me anyway) and already nearly destroyed it. Anyone know any good sites for breakers and new parts ie winch bumpers, rock sliders, guard kits and lift kits. Used to own a 2 door crr 3.5 v8 bull nosed, bob tailed and converted to a pick up. Used to always be out with a group of mates green laning. Lost my way for a bit but now coming back to join the fun.

Decided to go down some nice quiet, easy green lanes and ended up in a 4 feet deep hole. After managing to get out of this one with a kenetic rope I found I had bent the steering arm as I am a doughnut and forgot to put a steering arm guard on doh! Proceeded a little further whereupon me and my mate both got stuck for around 3 hours. Called out for the rescue parties, 1 Ford Ranger got stuck, no surprises there, standard 90 pulled the Ranger out and we never saw them again. Whereupon a 200tdi Disco tried to pull us out and burned their clutch out. Saviour of the day turned out to be a trusty Defender, B reg 200tdi with salisbury rear diff and the biggest 17'' off road tyres I have ever seen. So I am now needing a few parts to the old girl back on the road again. 1 x steering arm 1 x o/s rear bumper corner 1 x STEERING ARM GUARD LOL Wish list for right money. Would be very interested in Front winch bumper Reinforced rear bumper Snorkel Winch Tank guard

Do you know if you can change the whole front end then, including wings?

Hi everyone. I am a new user to this site so be gentle with me lol. Just recently bought a P reg 300 Arden discovery. Am planning to do a headlight conversion that I have seen on ebay for 2004 headlights and bumper. Have bought the cd and is on it's way in the post. Hopefully should be through in the next couple of days. Was wondering if anyone had converted theirs and if it is as easy as it looked in the advert. What does Arden mean on my disco? Is it just a body type?
