  1. The engine mounts have been cut off and re located to the rear the temp gage sits in the middle once it has wormed up feul gage works speed is a bit bouncy below 20 mph as in the needle is jumpy

  3. I've heard about this joint and been told it's a real bleep to do what do I look at to see if this is the problem

If there is anybody local to me who doesn't mind taking a look at my new landy and give me some advice don't mind a drive out to meet up just looking for some pointers I took it to a garage today and was quoted 4300 to change my chassis I think this may be too much also told me that all my shocks and springs will need replacing but they seem fine have no visible damage rust leaks etc I just don't want to be charged for work it doesn't need if any one is local to keighley bradford area get in touch via pm thanks for the help so far guys

I've just bought my very first landrover 90 and it has soo many issues I didn't know where to start youtube has helped me so far Im not at all mechanically minded but everything so far is so simple just take your time and check it twice Example I didn't know how anything worked from the heaters to the gear sticks but in the Last two days I have all working lights indicators interior light a few more to go but you will get there
  7. If they want it enuf they will take it I was at a friends garage last month and a defender was took in broad daylight on the back of a truck mine is 1988 and if they took it they would bring it back lol
  8. Google there is loads of componys that can come out to fit them not sure what's good and bad tho

I drove it back from north Wales ive never drove anything this old loud clunky but I've got to say I think I'm a new landy fan we had a great laff on the way back the interior switch puts the interior light on but nothing for the clocks I found the heater leavers I don't think there working lol bit more on the feul light it only flickers if stop very hard well as hard as it allows the clunk/clunks it sounds like it's in the tunnel and another from the rear diff area all in one motion but no excessive wine

I've just got a 1988 defender 90 it has a 300tdi engine the gearbox has reverse next to first it does 70 mph but it can cruise at 60 comfortable I think I need help fixing a few little things lights work but the clocks have no light feul light came on when I tested the breaks not sure if it's normal had approx just under half a tank the gear box has a little clunk or thud when changing gear when in gear gears feel nice I have never owned a landy before I'm from Keighley if anyone fancies telling me what I need to get fixed or help me in the wright direction no idea how to work the heaters

It's had a new rear cross member and it has steel wheels normal road tyres pritty standard I'm taking a a screw driver and hammer and a torch my friend is a mechanic and has offered to come with me so think it should be ok I would put pics on but I'm not very good with technology lol thanks again

  15. Which is the better box and can either or be fitted stright on to the current 300tdi engine

  17. I'm swapping my bad decision navara for it so I'm excited but trying to be calm I have no idea about the gear box but I know it is five speed

It's a e reg 88 but the outside paint is very clean it looks very clean underneath and the engine is tidy I just concerned its one of them too good to be true type of things worst comes to it what engine can I fit in it an is it a costly thing the chassis I'm not too bothered as thinking of galvanised chassis is the way to go

  20. When I seen the engine I wasn't sure but it looks clean I did ask him he said it was the original I'm now a bit suspicious and that's a great write up for things to look at thank you for the help very much appreciated
  21. It has the original engine and the only modification is the springs and shocks by 2 inch
  22. Other than the suspension it is completely standard and original engine
