Right I have a td5 discovery as the story goes the clutch has been slipping for a while but only now n then.anyhow it started to make a chattering noise a friends made similar noise (almost like a heat shield rattle) it turned out to be the flywheel to this I didn't mind as I could change it during the clutch change.but last night while driving home as I let my foot off the gas it started with a vibration and a noise asif someone had tipped a bag of spanners in something important,no lights illuminated until the engine died (just asif I'd turned the key off not sudden)and now it won't turn ova asif seized! But oil water temps were all good! Sumone said the flywheel may have collapsed but it died slow not a sudden stop.anyone heard or had anything similar thanks Paul

Il have to check mine! Got a 450 mile round trip to do to collect a motor soon my cluch doesn't fully disappear it just goes a little spongy,thanks

o dear looks like il be spendin a lot of cash once again a hate it wen plans dont work -
hi guy's i have dropped on a old x6 superwinch 24v for free :-) is there anychance of fitting such as a bow motor to it as it has a small poxi motor atm i dont have the winch in front of me too see as i need to collect it any help plz

hi im paul,i used to owm a 100 inch defender challenge truck that was sold due to falling out with the green oval didnt last long as i have started again ,right i have a 1981 bobtail full roof rangie its been around a while but the body and chassis are mint it's got a cage etc but im wanting to build a all out challenge truck again, .the shox are fitted opposit ie one pointing fowards one back..can this be changed to fit the gwinn lewis pin shock mounts etc. .i want to get 35 fedimas under it the arches have been cut and shes lifted 2 inch will it need a body lift .im in the process of takin the v8 out and fitting a 200tdi cpuld anyone shine a light on what chassis olterations will need to be made .anyone have any nice pics of bobtails for some guidence thanks paul

thanks for the help guys,can anyone recomend anyone close to me (sheffield) to do the drill work on the shaft i dont think my cordless and the workshop vise are up to the job of drilling and tapping the shaft also does anyone no why gigglepin want £15.00 to post a servis kit -
hi i went off bricht and early sunday morning to do a little practicing on my winching style ready for my first comp in april first few hours were realy good using my freshly rebuilt 8274 with the bow motor etc then on winching through a rather sticky bog the (new) circlip holding the brake mech flew off causing me to lose my new gigglepin bearings there not expensive i no but i dont fancy been half way up a bank and that happening agen i carnt atm afford the new mainshaft with the end bolted any tips on how to stop this happening again thanks paul

he would be better keeping it tbh mate i have a truck just the same it's cost me 13k up to press and tbh if i were to sell it it would get around 6k if that but i will run it to the floor and scrap it before lose that much money id prefer the by mile than let it go -

i no what your saying mate best thing to do is try it at 9k see what happens (personly i feel its a little two much ),simmonites have allways been good at putting the high prices in lol plus they are dealers,i know someone who is thinking of selling his truck he's a dealer its a r plate,galv chassis,ascroft,2/8274,arb's,all the toy's and he's thinking 10k if he decides to sell but thats him. -

as bish said they dont seem to bring as much as a bog stock 90's trouble seems to be once up to event spec they seem to become unusable as a day to day truck so people who want them are after them for one reason.and you dont ever get what you want for em -
hi guys ive been offerd a set of mog 406 axles for silly cheap money i no they will need some moding to fit my defender but trouble is everyone seems to use 404 axles whats the difference and will this make them unfittable to the lr thanks paul also what are the axles worth

your correct mate the dash was for sale i have the price and a contact no in my file of wants for my 90 iv only seen the one fitted to the 90 at the show though
