You could use the connection on the starter motor. ... bigger bolt and more direct to battery. ..
That's what I did for my fans

Probably need wider arches with 285's already!
Adjust the steering stops. ..it's free and won't need to tell your insurance company!
-
I tried changing the bearing once. I gave up when the flange broke. ... easier to buy the whole thing. ...

You can get 15inch land rover wheels. ... get an old pr with low profile tyres and jobs a good un..... The reduction from 16 might make the difference between it working or not. ..
-
Did you definitely get the right cylinders. ... as the wrong ones can result in this issue. ....

Excellent Ralph. You're a star! !

Thanks Ralph, but the puma doesn't have the cast metal lumps that bolt to the chassis, they have welded on pieces that the big bolts go through, however the bolts are smaller hence the Bush must be different too...... I think it's a post 09 thing.....

I need to source the bushes and bolts for a puma..... I kinda assume that the arms are the same as the older ones, but the bolts are smaller hence the Bush must be different too....
Thanks

The way I learn about stuff is to get an old one and pull it apart. .. The best way to learn is imho experience. ..
-
I used new stretch bolts..... but wish I'd got studs.... but then it's only a rebuild not custom build. ....

Maybe next time as I really didn't enjoy doing them what feels like too tight!

Put the first head back on last night. .. crikey it was scaryddoing the 180 degrees. .. darned tight!.....

I once sent a vehicle for a pre mot check. ..
it had no lights fitted. ...
Came back later and it had been tested and passed.....
tester said if it wasn't there he couldn't test it...lol.
I suspect times have changed since then. ....

Shock sensor in the alarm. .. mine used to do it on rtvs..... Never did find a cure. .. didn't make the truck cut out so I just put up with it.....

Thanks Dave, that's what I will be doing....

I'm in the process of fitting a 3.9efi auto in my 90.
I figured it would be silly while it's on the garage floor not to do some work on it..... so I've removed the inlet and gubbins and removed the first head.... I plan on doing one at a time so to minimise the bits floating around...
The first of possibly many questions is...
It's originally a 14 head bolt engine, can I refit it with only 10, as I've heard that the outside 4 can be the cause of gasket failure.....
Thanks

It's oil vapour. .. put the cap back and drive it......

I know its just nuts and bolts to fit the actual tub itself,. what i'm interested in is the fuel filler..... i'm toying with fitting a rigid steel pipe along the inner arch above the spring platform, with a flexi pipe each end..... sound feasible..?? ... dependant slightly on axle articulation i guess.............

Amazing how much flex there is in the actual shock bracket.....
-
Thanks mickey..... not quite so easy. But having said that I would rather have more space around that area than not enough. ...
Cheers

Interesting... many thanks....

Hi guys, have semi started the project, but I have a few questions that people I hope will have the answers to, my set up is currently a barbed v8 with lt77.
So the auto box is the same length as the v8 lt box, but what I don't know is if the auto will fit in a 200 style seat box and gearbox tunnel. Or do I need the later 380 style one??.....
It won't really bother me if I do, as my existing seat box has seen better days....
I'm sure I will have other questions but I thought I'd kick it off with that one....
Thanks in advance.

Hopefully now sorted. ...
Thanks.
Bit embarrassing really. I swear I checked the vacuum advance. However with another suck it wasn't doing anything. Fitted another and it now appears to be fine. ... hard to be totally sure as the truck isn't taxed so I can't road test it..... but it certainly revs cleanly now. .....

Ideally a two person job..... one to hold the jet and one to deal with the nut!
