hello again my clutch pedal is slack ive checked theres no fluid under the vehicle. theres none, but theres a tiny amount under the clutch pedal. when i try and engage the gears im just getting that crunching noise the fly wheel makes??? it drove last night the gears were as smooth as cream. i parked up last night and this morning whilst gettin ready to goto the car boot nothing. its getting to me. im thinking somethings broken due to the sudden loss? there didnt appear any warning!!!

is the fitting a big affair or can anybody do it? and is there a possibility to improvise some way?? im really pused for time

i have to drive to england this week and im wondering if this means that now the fast gear is dead is the slow gear gonna be far behind?? sooo..is there a step by step i could follow to fit a new one and is it a simple enough job? i havent got my manual here to even look at the system its at this moment in my landy which is 600 miles away. i could order the parts today and have em delivered to the motor if i get the feeling i could tackle this easily enough. thanx in advance for any help.

im a total amateur and i went to sweden totally prepared by using the books and the forum and by making contact with the local landrover club in germany to get all the info i needed and more. it saved me 600 quid which meant i could go even deeper into danger!! great.

its not about counting rivets really its about counting alan wickers, people who really know nothing about landrovers but would love to own one spend good money on their dream machine..and with all the new laws from the whores about emmisions etc a man oughtta know what hes gettin himself in to. when we are spendin thooousands we want exactly what it says on the tin!!

okay thats that then. im always looking to improvise what is the best flushing product? im sure theres build up of some kind les?

does any one know if it would prolong the life of your water pump and pipes ?or if itll damage it? its another of my crazy ideas but... all jokes welcome... do waterpumps live longer with calgon? i mean if you used it to flush your system?

lets suppose you were looking for a good saharan safari and had no idea where to start, im really asking for a friend of mine whos asking how to get the best deal. im planning to do something like it myself some day hopefully but she has no vehicle and ask me to look into it. any one got a good link?

i just had a new tank fitted and it looks nothing like that one? and mine was welded on not just bolts.

its overkill we love overkill, its that british belt and braces approach. same as changing yer knickers an socks....errrr not that i wear knickers

on this very forum there are people who would steal your landrover thieves are everywhere! and when we lock our cars at night and switch on our car alarms and turn on the imobilzer and pat rover on the head weve done all thats really practical that we can do. its true the professionals (not body and doyle) are gonna get their way no matter what we do. but i cant allow myself to believe that even half these trucks end up in the 3rd world. in london theres probably a couple of dozen of really professional chop shops that will ring you a motor thats untraceable. but id bet my mothers last breath that theres thousands of shoddy ones. and these are the ones that i think are responsible for most of these thefts. and a system that is driven by owners for owners could be a very tight network, people do not help each other anymore thats why its so easy to get away with murder. if it helped one single member recover or prosecute it would be worth it in my opinion. just think about that next time you lock your wheels!!

so much for unity i suppose thats the answer to my little idea.. i suppose its a case of come back when youve got the prototype. im dissapointed

feedback this is all i was hoping for really, as the the topic description says :where there is unity there is victory. the more critical and optomistic the feedback the better. it all makes for a better idea. as ive said thats all this is an idea. could it work? thats for us to find out with the help of all.

dont say that i was thinking that. but decided to go ahead with this post anyway, you know that landrover owners are not the average car owners, even here in germany im surprised i havent been arrested yet for the amount of times my arm goes up and down when i see another landy. you see it would probably work better here then there cos europes so big and the cars do get taken across boarders and sold. but even second hand parts need selling, and who knows with enough detailed info even parts could be recognized as stolen which at the very least could prompt police intervention? as you say its a dream but one that i think could help not cure but help.

this sort of thing comes so easy to some people, no ****in moral values at all.

how are they offering their vehicle up for theft? obviously the identity of the vehicle does not need to be revealed unless its stolen.and why would they give the current location? i spoke to western about this he suggested that there would probably be data protection issues etc. you may say im a dreamer but im not the only one its just an idea that i wanna run through peoples minds to see how a many eyes net work could come about. bcos im not a network data base notch i cannot give you the if and hows just the basic idea.

i have an idea that could help track and recover stolen vehicles using the vast networks of forums and official land rover clubs throughout europe. its just an idea and i realize there would be obstacles and hitches to overcome to get this to work but, nevertheless its a perfectly feasable idea. i have no idea of how a network like this would work on the tech side but .i imagine that with thousands of members nationally and tens of thousands europe wide then surely its certainly possible. in a nut shell each and every member would give a picture and a description of his or her vehicle to their forum club etc and an email addy..so far so good. then if your baby goes missing then an automatic e mail with pic and description goes to every single member. thus making it much harder for a potential theif to move a stolen truck about without being seen. just an idea.

why dont you just refresh the paint on the roof and then get a really nice roof rack fitted to take your eye off it

do you suppose that where its real mossy itll be beyond it? it looks like it has some kind of felt runner ? and if thats the case wheres the best place to buy new? thanks western.

is it possible to remove clean and then replace them easily? they are riveted ive been told so does that mean theyll probably be destroyed in the removal process? im also wondering wheres best to get the new ones (in terms of quality) thanx in adavance people. :im talking about my rear sliding windows the double set.
