My truck always starts first time but, as it has a known pretty dud battery, its after about two 'duh ru ru's' !!
However thought I'd just share this as it may help :
An old 1988 Defender 300tdi currently 'sorned' and in various stages of undress in the shed!Driveable - though with no door or dash to speak of at present!
Every Month out for a quick once around the yard and up and down our rough track just to keep things moving.
The old battery, under the passenger seat, is somewhat worse for wear cos it was new in 2014 and although it is on a permanent intelligent charger it will barely turn the big ol' diesel lump over.
The truck is a 'goodun' though and does fire up after only one turn.
So I thought I would give the 'Audew' something to do.....
Its only been sitting pretty in its attractive case and has only managed one charge up of a mobile phone since bought!
So I connected it to the o'l Landy and, bugger me, the truck has never turned over so fast in all its life!
Fired into life in about 2 seconds flat!
Seriously it was an easy, effortless and competent start of a heavy old lump.
Dis-connected and checked the Audew expecting a sizeable discharge...
It has lost - wait for it - 2% now showing a 98% state of charge - pdg! This 'jumper' was recommended to me on another forum and I feel safe in the knowledge that the any car can be started in the event of a run down as discussed above and also if my phone goes down (as they do) that can be done too!
Good enough for meย ๐

Got the Ctek mxs 10 (12v 10a) so simple and reliable to use as has been said.
Very pleased! Connect and forget (up o a point)
I only got this one because of the useful comments on here about AGM batteries on our Discos that could not be charged properly unless the charger was at least 8amp (iirc)
These have a separate setting for them as well...

Good question so I'm watching!ย ๐

Forgive me for saying this, and don't quote me, but it maybe worth doing some research on drying and curing of different types of cement screeds, conditions andย location.
I am no expert but have had a little experience, in a small domestic way, with screed floors and waiting for the damn things to dry in order to cover.
You have an advantage in that it is not a thick fresh lay but...
I thought it was (on average) (from laying) 1mm per day for 1st 40mm and then 2mm per day for the rest!!
That would be a bit more than a Month in your case. I only say to avoid a peeling issue - which I'm sure you do too.
In addition to the tried and tested test above to get/borrow and damp meter just as an indication of how it's going. Better to leave it too long imo...
Remember too that were are heading into Autumn and the drying rates may be even slower...
Always worth using a proper sealant too before you are ready to paint proper.
HTH.

Spare parts are really easy for Henry's too...ย ย We go here linky

Got 2 red Henry's and a 'Baby' Karcher - maybe they're jut too small...?
Henry's are good with bags but the Karcher isn't IMO. Used without you're forever cleaning out the filter before much is in the can.
Decades agoย ๐ฎ I used to have a DIY store special to clean out the dust debris, bits of tiles and calamity in the loft over lath & plaster of a 200 year old house. The sort you might get in Aldi today only with a more powerful motor and a much bigger hose and attachments. (2.5"?)
Worked really really well too.ย Burnt one out but got another it was so deep and filthy up there! In order to treat timbers you have to see them.
Never seen as good and effective (or as cheap) as them since...didn't hurt too much as it was not expensive...

Yeah but which one has a large enough diameter tube with connectors that don't reduce/restrict the pipe even further?ย Eevryone I tries fails to cope with shavings, chips of timber or whatever as they get stuck in the tube, joints or entry to tub...?? Turn the brush part upside and have a look at how small the opening is! Done to increase the airflow but stuff gets stuck...ย ๐ค

I've too have heard that the double ABS version of servo is an upgrade for the 90 to give more easier breaking effect.
I have the earlier master cylinder as well a thin servo so would look to change both as an upgrade.
Likewise interested in this topic.....I believe it means a small amount of cutting to the wing top to use the fatter longer servo.
Perhaps a grown up will pop in.....ย ๐๐

These are very good people and quality work!ย ๐

We got rid but kept hook and used furniture upholstery webbing.
The photo attached shows our first go but we had to re-seam much tighter to get it really firm and works well and supports.
Also put in a sheet of 1mm thick plastic sheet to help spread the load!
I think it takes your weight as well as holding stuff in tho.....ย ๐

Defo DIY!ย Did my own with 'closed cell foam' and "Sticks like..." adhesive (The one that will tolerate 300 degreesย ๐).
Worth mentioning that perhaps a fire retardant material might be better with petrol power but as for my 300tdi diesel...ย ๐๐
Not pretty but definitely makes a difference imo - the bonnet sounds nice and solid when tapping or shutting and the engine is a bit more quieter
I'll be going egg carton shaped sound absorption material in and around bulkhead/engine bay wun day!ย ๐คฅ
or I'll change back to a nice quiet petrol!!ย ๐ฑย (where it's louder at the back!!!)
Worth sorting any rust or painting on the underside of bonnet b4 fixing tho! ๐
