  1. John

About the same as we have paid for the trip in May,,and very similar to last year,,

Last year we got to about a hour north of Gib,from getting off the boat,, If going to Morocco, it has to be a no brainer, adding the extra distance through France,, its over 3000 miles as it is

  2. I'm sure you know tims time scales wander.................................

At least it has a proper loom and proper colours now

Oh...and if Tim can find where I've hidden the megafuses

Thusday evening !!! no wanderings :o

Not looked hard as yet Les,, but give us a clue,, bar for they are inside somewhere !!!!

  3. You worry too much  ...............

    afternoon ........ ;)

Did not use to,, wake up in the middle iof the night in a cold sweat !!!

I intend to get there late Thursday morning and have it running by mid afternoon ........ ;)

Can i quote you on that BBC :)

Map pipe all done, alone with most of the engine breather/coolant hoses, bar the bottom rad !!!

Just need some power now !!! :(

  4. - Having a built ECU programmed with the same firmware & a working map from here, with a wiring tail

Have a built ECU (Mr Wightman's :)) , Guessing its blank at present

    - Having mounted/fitted EDIS, coils, trigger wheel, VR sensor, IAT sensor, lambda sensor, and vacuum takeoff beforehand.

Recon i now have all that ??

    - Having run any extra wires needed (EG EDIS/coil pack power feed, lambda sensor wires) beforehand.

Now thats the problem,, Getting the feeds to the relays, Just got a load of wires looking for a home

    - Having examined the circuit diagram for your EFI system and worked out a list of what needs to move to where & wiring colours for the MegaSquirt.

Have no EFI system fitted,, Was a 200Tdi manual, Just have a new engine harness, and hopefully wired as per the diamgram on Hybrid's MS Topic,,

  5. With a bit of planning & prep you can drive into the workshop on Friday evening running on Lucas and drive out on Monday morning running MS.

Having spent Saturday & Sunday in the pub.

Easier said that done,, by someone who knows :D

At present its doing my head in,, with having to start all a fresh !!!

  6. While that might be true, the reliability (or lack off it) of the box itself does make up for this imo. Manual all the way for me, with a ratio low enough to give you all the control you would ever want.

    Daan

??? Spend more pennies on manuals, rebuilding/repairing/clutches/hydraulics etc,, never any bar oil changes on automatics,

Couldn't pay me to drive a antiquated manual

  7. What happened to the 90 you where buying?

Ditto Mark ??? Though the 90 was bought and job done ??

As for man/auto,, all of above,,

Under 2.5 lts diesel = Manual

    Proper offroad engine (V8)= Auto

The hybrid was bought, years ago, just because it was auto,, and the trayback, is currently undergoing a V8/auto/underdrive conversion,, as for me, a auto is a must,,

  8. Spoke to my brother in law today (who's a GP) and the last medical he did for an HGV or similar, which did not include full eyesight readings, urine test or a STRESS ECG and he had to charge £200, and that was 5 years ago, before he went into research.

I have to have a medical with my GP every year,, (eyesight, urine, blood pressure etc) for my licence (International) so he can fill in the front page of the application form,, charges me £40

Also need a stress related ECG every 2 years as a international ,, £350 :o

5 days after the application , until the mail re its gone to the printers arrived

  9. Have a big reel of the wire at work,,

You are allowed to wire them,, but the Fia scrutineer will use a puka FIA numbered seal

Normally turbo restrictor, engine block to cly head

No idea what the turbo restrictor size is now,, gave up on turbo cars,, It was 34mm, when we ran the cossys etc

  10. You've completely missed my point.

(Note: I have been a member of a MSA Recognised club for almost 20 years and as a Club Comp Sec and Rally Sec I have a reasonable understanding of how MSA regs, permits, and SRs work... I have no big problem with the MSA but just think this one has been handled very badly.)

Did not miss your point whatsoever Pam !! and jolly well done for all your time spent ,, :D

(Note, Have been a motor club(MSA) member for over 33 years, served on the committee since 1981, and been current vice chairman since 1985, Done every job that needs doing, up to and including CofC on national status events,

Won national championships, and still compete at WRC level, so also had more thatn a few dealing with the RACMSA that was, and MSA as now)
