  1. went to a company called RAPID, flexible back probes are £2 ea they are perfect for the job, thanks for your input guys.
  2. can anyone tell me where to buy probe kits for terminals or back probes, straight or Y, appreciate any help.
  3. was just curious, the method I've read about is very similar to used cooking oil conversion.
  4. has anyone had any experience of diesel made from used mineral oil?
  5. the relay above is the a/c clutch relay,if heater blower is in position 1,2,3,or4 an earth is provided to pin 86 of the relay via the dual pressure switch contacts.the earth circuit can also be interupted by the evaporator temp sensor in the (heater) box if it senses too cold ie ice.hope this helps.
  6. ignition load relay K127 located rh footwell behind the kick panel trim and its nearest the bulkhead, according to the rave disc that i have, could be wrong, but may be worth a shot
  7. am with budget insurance was £190 fully comp, the underwriters wouldnt touch this with any extras.i am going to look at tetsu0san's recomended insurer if i take the snorkle and spots off its £210 fully comp.
  8. just transfered the insurance to the (new) to me disco, being honest i told them that it had a snorkle fitted.somebody decided that i must go off roading, and wanted an extra £700.any advice on other if its possible reasonable insurers would be appreciated, other wise what do i use to block the hole in the wing hopefully a lot cheaper than £700.
  9. don't you just love those unelected law makers in this undemocratic E U ? mind you our legislators arn't any better. I won't bother putting solar panels or windmills on me disco now It'll be breaking some sodding rule.
  10. i live in a teraced house and space is deffinitly at a premium i've just swapped the hub/calliper assemblies and replaced the brake lines its annoying having to do it twice just to keep the doner mobile and legal.3 to 4 weeks for the engine /transmission swap but i'll do that in the garage this back street working is sodding painfull.
  11. i have got 2 discos 300tdi's i am swapping the engines and gear boxes,(the body and chassis on one is in brilliant condition compared to the other) unfortunatly the rot box has the best engine and gearbox etc, is it worthwhile selling the spare engine and box or is keeping the doner (that spelling do not look right) vehicle for its parts,a better option.
  12. thank you for your reply, had not realized that this was subject of an earlier post( to many scoops of fermented juice)
  13. i'm wanting to replace the front brakes on a 96 300tdi,i've got a pair of vented discs and am wondering how easy/what parts i will need to use/fit these to the vehicle.I am aware that callipers will need to be replaced but with whitch ones,or are the callipers for vented discs the same? regardless of model? any advice would be greatly appreciated . I am also planning to swap egine/transmission from two 300 tdi disco's can anyone tell me if i'll get caught out by any thing? I am hoping that it is fairly straight forward, but have been unpleasantly supprised by sods law in the past.Once again help/advice will be appreciated.
