  1. I've heard something like that before and read it on one of other forums when I was trying work out what the fault was on my truck, truck is 1987 d90 owned it 41/2 years never had pick up pipe before, chap I had it off let is young son ride round the farm in it he only used red diesel, that waxy oily stuff really slimey and gooee, I thought it was when the diesel got to cold and a substance in it separated from the diesel, dd

  2. all sorted, it was the pick up pipe out the tank, the gauze on the end of pipe was caked up with waxy/oily substance, and I would advise everyone to check theres for the sake of ten minutes saves a lot of hassle in the long run, some say take the gauze off but surely in affect it was doing its job other wise it would have gone in the filter and god knows where else, and now truck running great dd

  3. hi, went out this morning everything seemed ok and then no power and no revs, it started a few weeks ago, going up hill this morning and had to pull over no power not even in 1st gear had to turn round and had to crawl home cutting out and blowing loads white smoke out, already change fuel filter and lift pump to no avail any ideas asap need truck tomorrow hopefully, dd

  4. done what you said and got plenty of fuel gushing out, took truck up the road and loads of trouble, first of all run then no power no revs and kept cutting out, got back and took fuel filter off and it was only 1/4 full is this normal, and tried something else took arm off wastegate on turbo and cannot move wastegate is this normal I think i read in another post this should be moved easy, dd

  5. never, had engine three year, the leak I found was and now sorted was bad when engine was running so I was presuming that was my problem with the revs, but the leak was after the pump, so could it be that there was air being sucked back, what I'm trying to do is sort out what I can see, what if I take return pipe off and let fuel run into container with engine running would this remove air from fuel lines, dd

  6. on my fuel line of a section of clear pipe and I can see the air loads of it, what happened was I was having trouble with power mainly at the point where you change gear, and investigating more I found a leak it was on the fuel line, clip had came off don't now how,and the clear pipe section is on the return pipe by the pump, it's causing the engine to splutter on tick over, oh and I changed the fuel filter aswell, dd

  7. hi, d90 1987 200tdi conversion two years ago, right, driving along building up the revs to change to third and I'm getting an intermittent power loss on the pedal, change to third build power up to change to fourth same again, also same in fourth when up to power, on inspection I found that the small pipe that comes off the airflow meter to fuel pump was melted to manifold with a hole in it, changed the pipe with new, but still got the same problem first thought it was water in fuel checked filter all clear, I then pulled the rubber hose off that fits to the airflow meter and I could see a slight oil on the connector, also there isn't so much power in truck as normal, any ideas dd.
