  1. OH poo ! back to school for me then...
  2. Aragom, thanks great site. having read it it would appear that one of the main differences between the two types of lambda is zirconia sensors create there own voltage where as titania adjusts the supply voltage. Andy
  3. I had a feeling that was the case, thanks for that. Dave you have a PM !! Andy
  4. Hi, there are cheap Lambda on ebay. does anyone know if they are suitable replacements for the standard 3.9 efi lambdas? or could any one point me to a supplier of suitable ones that are not £100 each? Thanks Andy
  5. My disco is a 1997 3.9 V8 and whilst having its latest engine work the thread on the bottom gland/fitting on the air conditioning radiator has stripped, I have the possibility of getting one from a 94 3.5. are they the same ?? Thanks in advance Andy
  6. Hi, If you can put a long breaker bar on the nut put a trolly jack under the bar then when you lift the jack on the end of the bar it should undo the nut. (worked for me) Andy
  7. Ive done this to my 97 3.9 V8 Auto + 2" lift no more vibration well worth doing. It has had the cats taken off, I think the only problem with the V8's is if they have cats on still its very tight for a D/C front shaft. Andy
  8. I use the Dewalt 18v one ,really pleased with it but would always check wheel nuts afterwards. Andy
  9. Spoke to Steve at crown diffs, he has given me a good price for servicing the ARB's and changing the ring gear. but, for now im going to see how the disco runs with its rebuilt engine. (its been off the road since Feb having its engine re built) So im leaving the lockers in the shed for the mo until the engines all sorted. ( you never know, with the mods ive done to the engine it might not even need a gear reduction !!!) Andy
  10. Right.... Ive decided to go sequential LPG, so next question is, can anyone recommend a supplier for a front end sequential kit? All the engine work should be finished and the car back on the road running on petrol after the bank holidays, dont see the point of re installing the old single point LPG system, hopefully put the LPG kit on weekend after that (or sooner with the price of petrol!!) then as soon as thats running right on with the MJ. Discos been off the road for ages now cant wait to get it back on the road !! Andy
  11. OK then !!!! If im honest, it was RPI (Chris) who said stay with single point with the mods ive got. I have bought a fair bit of stuff from them in the past inc the cam and timing gear to go with it. The heads came from V8tuner although were second hand to me. I dont want to start a row here but I find that whenever I ring RPI I get "talked at" and dont think they really listen to what im trying to say, This wont stop me from using them in the future, its just I want a second opinion. So, does any one think that my mods will be to much for the 3.9 efi unit to manage if I go sequential? — Maybe with a re chip? My gut is saying to me "go sequential" but RPI do know their stuff, there is very little in it price wise between single and sequential. And before anyone says, go megasquirt, I want to get my head around megajolt first !!!!! anything ive done or will do can always be sold on to make way for newer/better at a later date Andy
  12. Hi all, Ive got a 97 V8 3.9 efi Disco on single point LPG Ive just had the following done to it: Stage 2 heads rpi torque max cam Headman headers feeding free flow exhaust. As soon as it's running right im going to fit a mega jolt ignition system. My current lpg system is well past its best. The tanks and pipes are all good but the electronics are nearly shagged due to too much water and mud. I plan to fit a new front end LPG system but am unsure as to which way to go. Stick with single point or change to sequential. I was told that the single point would suit my new engine and its mods better as it would be too modified for the ECU on he disco to manage. However if the ECU on my disco is self learning surely it would 'sort it self out' and sort the fueling for the car accordingly when on LPG, as I dont think the mods ive done are to extreme hope this makes sense What do you all think ?? Andy
  13. Hi, Just replaced my rough country rear shocks on my Disco with OME from gwyn lewis. (the rough country shocks were far to soft for me) I found him very helpful and honest about various suspension products fitted to my Disco and would be more than happy to put my business through him now. Just my two peneth worth...... Andy
  14. Hi All Im running 33's (thinking of 35's when the wear out) at the mo and was going to change my transfer box to a 1.4 to help with the gearing. My question is as above really. Ive been very fortunate and managed to get hold of 2 x second hand 24 spline ARB's for my Disco, but as they are second hand was thinking of having them serviced before I fitted them. Then I thought maybe I should have the ring gear changed at the same time, then the gearing change would be on both hi and lo range as opposed to just hi if i changed the transfer box. what do you think? waste of time or worthwhile? Cheers Andy
  15. Hi, If you mean the ABS wheel sensors, Ive used RR ones in my 97 Disco. got them from ebay from range rover heaven, quite allot cheaper. Andy
  16. If there studs, how about 2 sets of nuts on each one tightened against each other ?? Andy
  17. Ive fitted the nautilus (from ebay) and am well pleased with it. plenty load enough and came with an adaptor thing so you can extend the air inlet to it. Andy
  18. What else could I use? was thinking of the ARB unit that has a small tank with it?
  19. I like the under the seat install, not to sure how big the ARB compressor will be until it turns up though, I do have the rear dickie seats at the moment but was thinking of taking them out and swapping back to the cubby holes.
  20. Hi, am soon fitting a pair of ARB lockers to the disco and was wondering where people have fitted their compressor in a disco. Im probably going for the larger compressor so I can do tires as well. The Disco is a D1 300 V8 by the way. Cheers all Andy
  21. I put a small piece of tape on the bottom of the lens, stops allot of the spill into the cab. Andy
  22. I bought a second hand dissy from RPI, wasn't to expensive and had a new vacuum advance unit on it Andy
