  4. It very easy I did mine in 20 min and you could be lucky as Dell made loads of models so even yours could be very expensive but an other model could be cheaper, Mine is Advent 7103 screen should of costed me £133.00 but got mine from a smaller model still Advent think it was 7003 or something like and the screen fitted cost me £9.99 second hand. There is a tutorial somewhere on changing the screen over I see if I can find it for you. Regards .....JJ
  5. Hi there, As the MOT at the end of march the 300tdi ES will be on the road, As our daily drive car (Pink Toyota Estima Lucida) is coming off the road, It is struggling to cope with these roads on Anglesey, (Been modded Lowered body kit etc no less then 4" of the road!!) So that is why we are got the disco, But it is also to help me with me doing the Collage work (Photography). So now I would like to turn the 300tdi to our everyday use car Kids to school run, shopping, visiting places, etc but also it will be used for my partner to go to collage as she is a beauty technician. So that will leave me with the 200tdi to play with. What would you lot would recommend me to add to the 200tdi? I like to add a roof rack but they cost a lot of money to buy so would it be wrong to build/make one? It so I can stand on it with tripod etc so it give me the extra height, I dont plan on going over very extreme ground but maybe as much as greenlaning so whats the best thing for me to get? I dont want to get things that are not called for that I will not need etc, So what would you think that will be suitable for me? Also it has 7 seats and I like to keep them in as I have too many children!! But would like to add a secure box in the boot that would be easily removed when needed to. Think I better stop writing!!! must be getting on peoples nerves here Regards JJ
  6. I got a feeling there a new project coming on at my end! I going to have to stop reading your projects as I get the itchy fingers to do thing on the Disco lol and it not even MOTed yet!! going to get that done this month just a couple of things to sort out then I will get to play with the 300tdi Your all doing great and practical things. I'm Training to be a landscape and wildlife photography so I'm to be adding a roof rack so I can get high up if needed also drive hard to reach places, Hence the reason I'm after the discovery, Very practical on road for comfort, very good off road (after I have had training off road first Or I would be a laughing stock lol) I will start a new post before I get shouted for hijacking a post love the rear mesh! ........JJ
  7. That is super guys thanks will have to blow out the dust from my wallet and fill it with cash to get the right parts that will be needed. I guess I just unplug the FBW from the pedal & loom? May even do a turtorial in return if there not one about. Thanks again ......JJ
  8. So its not impossible then? Has anyone done one yet and is it possible to tell us what is involved in the making? I see its a pump with pipes, cable with pedel anything else? ......JJ
  9. Thats what I did today I had my son here so he helped me rock the steering with the engine running, but it now all the way down to a stop before the steering tighten up. Is that ok to do or am I looking at rebuilding a new steering box? Plus it has been leaking from the seal under the box where the steering arm clamps on the rod. could I just replace the seal for now and fix later? And Im sure I not bent the rod Im not that strong lol! Thanks JJ
  10. Hi Bud, was good to see ya! Sorry I did not do anything today. Hope I will get it done in the week, Dont worry about the axle I will strip it in the week if you dont have time ok. and I text you in the week .......JJ
  11. Hi all again! Right I been to see the Discovery today and spoke to the owner and got to the bottom of the running problem, Here is what is said In August last year he was driving it OK apart from letting go of the gas pedal it would start to hunt as if it was going to stall, but never did. so took it in to a mechanic he had a look. And said a number of things so the lift pump was replaced, all filters replaced and it still carried on, So that was left with a fuel pump or electrical problem but time was running out and in a hurry he got a new discovery. So this old Discovery was left on the field and the longer he left it there the worse it got, He was told that the Relay or pedal sensor is or could be faulty as he said when driving it OK and reaches top speed no problem no rev problems it just idling rough as if it is stalling but on a open run its fine. Also it DOES start from a key when the battery is fully charged. Also there is a abs sensor faulty (Front) is there anyway of fixing it without taking it in to be plugged in to a machine? Has anyone got any ideas? This is a 1994 L reg ES model 300TDI with A/C if that is any help? Regards JJ
  12. I made a mistake sorry, It does start the message was the battery was flat and it start with a bump. This was the message: There is power loss at the accelerator, this has got worse since i stopped using the car at the end of August.Again i have never had this investigated so don`t know what`s causing it,someone i know said it could be an electrical/relay fault, worst case scenario it`s the fuel pump! She`ll bump start but won`t start otherwise having been stood. Sorry about that (Note To Myself READ Right First Time!) Thanks for your input ......JJ
  13. Hi Jonnigee, You caught me out there sorry I did not see your post as we have to wait for it to be approved lol, Thank you for the welcome sorry I car,nt answer in Welsh though!! I am a Welsh boy ( from Bethesda where you from?) but I am deaf in both ears so instead of learning Welsh I had to catch up on English, but we are learning to speak Welsh ( As partner is from Notts) so hope we can meet up and have a chin wag and a nice cuppa lol!
  14. Forgot to add do anyone perfer 200 or 300 tdi? My 200tdi needs welding as stated above, but the rear box part on the body not chassis need replacing and I seen 1 on e bay but at £130! Can I get 1 cheaper? If so do you know where from please, I would plate it but it already been plated and underside is not there just a pair of body mounts The 300tdi is not running well it only starts with a bump, and there no power when you press the pedal, From what I have been reading on your forum, it mostly states the fuel lift is at fault. Do you still think that is right? The last owner was told it could be the relay? What do you think to that? Also there is a wobble on the front wheel I take that is 1, the wheel bearing or 2, it the swivel pin/bearing gone on that, could it be anything else? sorry for going on, Regards JJ
