There are lots of great sites in the lakes, depending on what facilities you want will generally give an indication of how busy they will be, especially during holiday season. If you want a quiet, scenic but basic site try Hollows Farm at Grange, on the Keswick to Seathwaite road, you can usually get on there during busy times. The Castlerigg sites just outside Keswick are great too but more facilities, great views etc means they are generally busy so book in advance. I live nearby so can generally take advantage of quiet times when lots of the crowds have gone home.

Did you upgrade the fuse/plug? I see you can't put them on standard 13a plugs.

Well I got one for my son who has just started a fabrication apprentiship. I know nowt about welding so will get my mate to try it out when he comes to weld my rear xmember on. I thought the rods weren't too bad at 3.99 for about 100 rods.

I see Aldi have arc welders in tomorrow for £35, has anyone tried these and are they any good?

It is a plastic attachment but can't find it anywhere so new sender is on order.

I have broken the end off of the pump/sender unit that the fuel line connects to. Does anyone know if this is a replaceable connection?

That may well be the problem Oaksey as it does slip down a bit when starting to wind. Do i need to change the whole unit?

I've got my new doors put together with parts off my old ones but I'm struggling to get one of the windows to go up evenly. I have noticed that one of the wheels in the lower holders does not move along the holder as the opposite one does, my question is should it?

Nice job. I've thought of making 2 single beds on a fold up frame and net type material to make hammock type beds that will double up as side storage when folded, has anyone done anything similar?

Does anyone have pic's/diagrams of how the dash fits back together. I have a '93 200 Tdi that I have started to put back together but forgot how it came apart.

I think the cable on the rear window has broken, it made a noise when lowering so i wound it back up and now it will not lower again. The door catch works but it almost shatters the glass as it is not down. Any ideas how I get the door open to sort it out?

A great post as I am going through similar work (not galvanising tho). I am struggling to get M8 rivnuts into the holes for the fan, the holes seem way bigger but would probably need propper tool for anything bigger than M8, anyone done some other work to get nuts in place?

I am trying to find the above for the front doors.

What sealant do you people use for fitting the rear window in the door. I have a new one to fit and the lumps left from the welds looks like it might cause a problem if I don't fit it with enough sealant.
