What about using the refridgeration unit from a lorry, there the ones which run all night when your trying to kip in a lorry park. Dont know if its possible but for sure there 24v. Something like a vegatable/friut/meat lorry usually has them on the roof of the container directly behind the cab.

Going to change all the oils this week on my 300tdi disco, not had it long and have always used 15w40 on previous engines as its resonably cheap and readily avaliable. Had considered 10w40 semi synthetic but have heard reports about oil leaks after changinging to synthetic oils as this engine is surprisingly oil tight I dont really want to encourage oil leaks. I dont know any history on this car so I've no idea what oil has been used before.
So 10w40 or 15w40 or any other suggestions.

I've recently purchased a 300 TDi with EDC as this controls the fueling can it be chipped as what a td5 can be.
If so who does it as I've never seen any company advertising this.

Hi , just bought a 300tdi and have noticed that the temp gauge runs at half way between hot and cold but when I turn on the blower,headlamps or hazards the temp goes up, turn off the blower,heater or hazards and the temp goes back to normal.
Obviously there's an electrical problem somewhere, it looks like the temp gauge or wire to the sender is earthing out somewhere ......maybe.
Not had time to check it out yet but has anyone got any hints where to look first.
Also sometimes when I turn the lights on the radio turns off and then on again, this is not every time only sometimes.

Anyone ... Done a search but no joy.
Where can I find a list of the year or engine numbers that were effected by timing belt issues on disco 300tdi engines, I seam to rember that there was two kits availiable and that a yellow blob of paint meant that it had been converted. Just bought a disco from jan 97 and need to know if this engine would have this problem. Thanks.

Ok, anybody know the answer to this .......... is 3/8 NPT the same size as a 3/8 English size. NPT stands for national pipe thread and is an American size.

I think the wiring diagram is on epc or at least in seperate pages. In my opinion the soft dash is the how the classic should look.
