Bernies site Can cater for all, I have even been to three winch comps there, So Yes it can cater for all , I would say ring bernie first though as he does do a lot of training there, and doesnt tolerate dangerous @rsing about, Stunning views from the top of his hill

Hi all,
Im in the market for a new trolley jack, I have been used to a 3 tonne spec one so see no reason to change this ? My needs are for General landy maintenance, Not an every day item ( hopefully anyhow ) On a non commercial basis,
Budget up to £ 130 happily, have looked on e blag, they list sealey ones for around that figure, or i can use my Halfords trade card and get there 3 tonne jobby for just £79 But no idea if there any good ?? Thought and experiences please

Sold a few bits, And brought a sealey Benchtop grinder jobby at a great price ( hopefully it will work when i plug it in later on
)
Seemed busy enough to me, And the weather was a complete bonus
Update --- Plugged it in tonight ----- turned on the switch ----- And ---
It worked a treat

Wurth do a product called "time serts" similar ( ish) to a helicoil but is a one piece item unlike a helicoil that is kinda a spring set up, Very strong, Many motorsport castings have them fitted as std, Your local engine shop should be able to help you out in this area

A good friend of mine Started up a few years back with a Normal size pressure washer in the back of his car, Just doing small patios etc, He now has his own house and a porsche on the drive ( and paid for ) Mainly does company work these days what with health n safety and image etc, Has a few people working for him also, He does work blooming hard though, but the rewards are there it seems

Pretty much agree with the above comments , We managed 15 punches that day and were very well entertained all day long
Due to terrain on that patricular site yep is was quite a challenge allround for setting up and competing in, That was not a critisism, Just the way it was, Many of the other sites have challenging terrain for many reasons, and as stated in the drivers breif " you do not have to attempt a punch that you feel is beyond you or the vehicle etc---"
As we new what was instore for that round we pre decided that we werent going to put the truck in a swamp UNLESS we had got all the other punches first
So we were quite safe that day
I feel the challenger/awdc series is a good allrounder, Very friendly and we have never been refused assistance in or out of a situation,, This is not to say it doesnt happen in other comps though, But ive not entered many other series
P.S still washing the truck down though
-
What a great start to the series
We were well chuffed with our results, And really happy with the amount of buddying up on certain punches, As per norm now ( which is a credit to all involved) A very well set up n run event,
A special thank you to the couple of teams that helped us out and the end when we lost our front winch
Just gotta work out how to start cleaning the truck now
Really looking forward to seing the dvd, we as many did had a onboard camera fitted for most of the day
Not sure who or if we are performing at the next round yet due to jollys to morroco ect, But looking forward to it

What about those "ZU" alloy rims ??
-
Everybody ready then
-
WOW !! Quite a List of peeps there, Should be a great event
-
But then on reading it again, Wheel bearing "issues" can show up nicely on a brake pedal
-
Clutching at straws, But -- how about a tooth or bearing type bit in the diff broken/dropped/chipped off and floating around inside, occasionally getting locked in the crown wheel/internls ? Drop the oil and see what comes out
Then i could be totally wrong though
Sounds a tad scarey for sure, Glad all are ok
If none of the above at least you have lovely new diff oils in it now
-
any one know of any challenges comeing up that are viewer friendly? or any sites to keep an eye on for up coming events?
thanks for the advise so far
First round of the challenger/awdc series is creeping up On the 13th march, Its on the Muddy bottom site Nr lyndhurst/New foresty area, A good site for spectating ( in wellies) Or later in the year there are some up yarwell/tixover way which i think is nearer you
Hope to see you at a event soon
I think were team 15 in this series, please feel free to come n chat at any point, I dont mind stopping at all
-
What's the access like to get our coach in?
I would say ok, But VERY muddy though, I think Joe ( the owner) Has a space where he parks his diggers ect just as you turn off the main road ? Although im not 100% on this, Maybe worth a call to him ( 07754 940783)
-
We went to muddy bottom today for a shake down of the truck after winter storage, And apart from a blown rear winch motor all is well
P.S the location "just happened" to be the same as the first round also, Aint that strange
We had a super day there, and some really good potential areas of fun to be had
P.P.S we werent the only faces from the series there either

A friend of mine has a puma engined 110 csw, and has just had a 45 litre aux fuel tank supplied n fitted by frog island ( Nr oxford i believe) Looks a nice job, Worth a phone call i say
-
Any tips please ??
-
Well what did we think then ??
I dragged myself up there suffering from man flu
But was really happy overall
Firstly a sensible price to get in, Proper car parking, A good range of suppliers there, and was very taken by some of the overland trailers for sure, I would go back again next year, Met a few peeps whilst there also
Well done to the event organisers i say
-
Hi all, I have a couple of services on a Puma engine 90 coming along, and was wondering if i "needed" the fuel priming pump tool jobby ? i have had a google about and some say "no problems if the filter is prefilled before fitting" and read other reports that state it is " a must" to do the job ?? I dont mind purchasing the tool but only if its required, Many thanks for input,

Just measured mine that i took of a 51 plate TD5 And they measure 9 and a half inches, These are the std pressed/solid type that came on the car
