  1. some people on that forum you've linked seem to think its a great idea to go up and down the lane despite the seasonal restriction being replaced by a full tro.

    no wonder people hate greenlaners

Edit: changed to read 'some people'

  2. While we are on the subject, can someone explain to me what exactly the A-Frame ball joint does and what it is I'm looking at in the top picture.

Is it hard to change the ball joint or the housing and joint together and do you need any special tools?

    Many thanks

    John

  3. Mine rattles a bit sometimes when I start up but nothing like what it seems yours is doing. Mine is a Defender 200Tdi though, and the original engine for the truck. I would be interested to know if this makes a difference.

What oil do you have in the engine?

  4. As Dave says, it will be harder to pull away but you will be able to cruise at higher speeds with lower revs, although the difference won't be too noticeable unless you go up in size by a significant amount. Your mileage reading will be incorrect too.

Be wary of cracks in your side wall, I had some on some old tyres and one of them disintegrated while travelling at 40 mph. It wasn't fun.

  5. Hi and welcome to the forum! Nice truck too!

I ask the most daft questions on here cause I'm useless and everyone is very helpful and accomodating so don't worry about asking something that you may think is a stupid question. The search facility is pretty useful too and most subjects have been covered before so it's always having a quick search if you need a quick answer.

The tech section is ace too for when you are doing home repairs and servicing.

  6. Nearly losing an eye to a bungee cord is somewhere on the forum already!

Dangerous bloody things. I still use them, just a bit more thoughtfully.

Oooh! Thanks for the stark warning, I sue bungee cords very often but never really considered the dangers!
