  1. you can pop them ot if your lucky, I find the right sized open ended spanner and a hammer usualy does the trick....if that fails its drill time....

Thats right mate with engine off the oil will drain to the bottom, so filter can be changed at a later date, os for special too, all you need is a 36mm or what ever it is socket and an extension bar. You will have to wriggle the filter and housing out as its a bit tight but can be done,other wise you have to take the intake tubing off.
  3. I bet you were all using the newer 5w/30 or 0w/30 engine oils the manufacturer reccomends. This seems very common in all manufacturers vehicles using this thinner oil grade. Long story short, it all get burnt away around the piston seals etc. so i`ve been told, thinner oils and all that? I stick to 10w/40, or 5w/40 give it a try see if it makes things any better for you?
  4. I bought a 2000 TD4 auto around a month ago, and have to say the box is very smooth
