  1. Nick, Where did you hear that from? I use to live in Daventry for 19 years. There were loads of Pol's just outside Dav but not many Russians. My mate lives there who's a 3 series owner, plus he works along side the police, So he may know!!! Will put the feelers out on that one.
  2. James, Really sorry some T**T has nicked your motor, hope you get her back. These wildlife cameras that you see on tv are very good for catching the thieving gits at it. Only cost around £200 and you can hide them in the hedge etc. Also have you tried the blank firing gate alarms, now they are good.
  3. MERRY CHRISTMAS LAD'S Just like to wish you all a "Merry Christmas" Enjoy your landy's over the holiday period. Cheers Phil
  4. Hi Mate, Take a look at my girl, she is done in MV Paint in Satin. http://s904.photobucket.com/albums/ac244/philpeacock/?action=view&current=landy013.jpg Great paint to work with. I just put the paint on with a roller, came out well really. Not every landy owners way of doing things, but I just want my girl for shooting & beating so does the job well.
  5. All sorted. Cheers for your help Western. Thanks for your thoughts guy's.
  6. Western, Will let you know Saturday night mate..fingers crossed. Ruurd. Thanks for your thoughts. yes mate, I disconnected everything before I took it off. cheers Phil
  7. Western, YOUR THE MAN!!!!! Cheers for the pic fella. Yes there the shoes I have. After looking at the pic, I'm wrong!! I put the shoes too far over on the adjuster, need to move them just over to the left abit. Thanks very much mate Will have a go again after work tommrw. What would we do without this web site. Cheers Phil
  8. Cheers Western, Done all that mate. Took the whole lot off four times thinking I had done it wrong, but still can't work it out. Done everything that you have said mate. Only thing I can think is that they may be the wrong shoes on it. Do any of you guy's have a pic of the brake shoe for a 80's 90? cheers Phil
  9. Hi Guy's, Came out to the landy (Early 90 Rod one)to find the handbrake had stuck on big time. Took the prop shaft off, drum off after about 1hr of fighting with it. Stripped the whole lot down (Adjuster & expander). Made sure everything worked ok & copper greased the working parts. Pads are newish. Put it all back on ok but when it came to re fitting the drum it wouldn't have it for love or money. Tried the adjuster to lowest setting and made sure I had put the expander back together ok and still won't go on. CAN'T SEE WHERE I'M GOING WRONG GUY'S......PLEASE HELP WITH YOUR THOUGHTS. Cheers Phil
  10. Evening Sam, I love my BFGoodrich's, What don't you like about them? I live on a farm in Shropshire and never had a problem with grip, even last winter with all the ice & snow my disco went anywhere. Cheers Phil
  11. Great News...The Beast is back on my drive. The police have had my landy for over a month in their compound and they have been over her with a fine tooth comb. NO part of her is nicked so they have given me the vehicle back....GREAT NEWS. They did find some 3 series parts but most of it was 90 parts. Chassis is a 90 but now without a vrn number on it because someone ground it off that rebuilt it. Police tried to get a number off it but with no success. DVLA have been told about the 2.5 td engine and now changed their records but she is classed as a 3 series 88 still. The police have told me I can run the landy on the old reg number but I'm not sure what to do? I won't sell her for a long time. Yes I could do without anymore c**p, because I haven't driven it since I bought her in June, but part of me thinks I should re register her as a 90 because it's running on 90 running gear. Have any of you ever rebuilt a landy and re registered it on a Q plate. How long does it take to sort out? Also on the DVLA vehicle enquiry page details have been changed to a 2.5td engine but when I try to insure it online, it still comes up as a 2.25 petrol when I put the reg details in. Any ideas please. Off to start removing all the old paint and prep the chassis ready for wax oil. Cheers Phil
  12. LOL, Jeff you are a star. Can't stop laughing. Opel Ascona 1600 this was my first car, I so loved her, then went and bought a Opel manta gte oh the good old days of the 80's. Jeff, You must write a book "I BEG YOU"
  13. "Tales of Land rover Ownership - the dark side" By Jeff "charred" R & Nigel "scampi" B. I would buy this book if it was ever published. I have never laughed so much for ages, Jeff if the Christmas Day story is written as well as this one please do tell. Hope you are all in one piece now. DON'T YOU JUST LANDIES...Always bring the best out in us. Cheers
