  1. Absolutely gorgeous, that truck is a credit to you both ! Dave!
  2. Apoligies, I meant run the vehicles fan aswell as the heater. I'm glad it works so well, the engine heater itself gets warm enough for driving about with, enough to take the chill off but we are after something for the night time mainly as we will be sleeping in the back, it has been insulated and a full length bed built etc. I'll have a look at Eberspacher air heaters aswell. Dave!
  3. Hi all, I will be fitting a diesel powered air heater to my 110 van body, mounted in a side pod for a trip to Nordkapp this coming Feb. I was wondering if anybody ran one of these air heaters and what vehicle it is in, how many KW it produces etc? I'm unsure about what size heater to go for and I can't speak to a dealer at the minute as i'm overseas. Also, what are your experiences with it, I don't want a coolant heater as it will use more electricity to have the engine running and also take longer to heat up. Any comments will be much appreciated. Dave!
  4. I use Rapeseed oil which costs me 76p a litre. I have run with a mixture up to 50/50 but it felt its best with a 30/70 mix of veg oil and diesel. 1 in every 10 tanks I run a 100% diesel mix, i've not heard many do this but it gives the chance for any deposits to burn off if they are infact developing. During the winter i'll not run any veg oil due to the cold weather thickening up the mixture too much. I haven't told anyone about it but have kept all of my receipts for the oil incase I am ever stopped. I have no qualms in using it, it's a little bit quieter on the stuff and apart from a few diesel filters when using my first tank, it has been totally faultless. Dave!
  5. I'd agree with Aragorn. If it was noticed straight away and caught before going relatively dry it would be worthwhile trying a kit first. It may be a bearing gone which then meant the seal went. Re-con or new pump would be my advice. Dave!
  6. Hi all, I'm just replacing my lower rear door seal on my 110 van body and for the first time since I fitted the rubber horse mat had a look at the floor. Apart from the load bed liner coating you get for pick ups, is there anything worthwhile painting the floor with which could help deaden the noise further? I was thinking of possibly more flashing tape but I was hoping someone had found or used a better solution which could give the floor some protection aswell as making it look a bit more presentable? Dave!
  7. I think Mercedes do a citrus style cleaner in powder form which is supposed to be very good, it's cheap to from what I remember. Dave!
  8. If the lifting of the engine has in any way disturbed the head gasket then the head would have to be very loose. It definitely isn't an issue imo, i've never seen or heard of this happening. Dave!
