You could buy a window and frame from ebay for not a lot of money, just a thought...........

Hi and welcome
I have also been looking at security and there are mixed views on dead locks.
Depending how desperate the toe rags are they will always get in and if you fit dead locks then the more of a mess they will make of your Defender.
As far as I can tell the best option is to buy a big Rottweiler and let him camp in the back, mind you he might eat his way out.
Sorry but I know this is not much help.
Hopefully someone will come along shortly with some more appropriate answers.

The heater came from a petrol Defender - looks about the same size as the 300tdi one I have.

Well I did not consider pump performance but this would need to be looked at. Loss of heat through the run would not be a problem as can always be insulated, as for the heater the plan would have been to use one from a 2 ¼ petrol which I have laying about. Don’t know if that is the same as the one already fitted as I have a 300tdi 90.
Thought it might fit at the front of the back passenger wheel which would give the shortest run of pipe. I would not plan on using it a lot but it would be handy at this time of the year for drying of the dogs after a shoot day.

I have a roof ye can have for the picking up, it has two sunroofs in it and they both leak but you may be able to fix.

Just a thought – I have a spare heater box and wondered if it would be possible to fit it into the wheel arch of my 90 with a grill cut and vent fitted to the inside and teed into to original heater. Just thought that this would be a good way to feed hot air to the back if required or would it just be a lot of work for very little benefit.
Happy new year to all – sadly I am stuck at work
so the brain is just ticking over with things that I could do – sad I know but well ----------------------

I am sure vsomeone here will be able to jive you the colour code for it if ye ask the question.
There are colour charts but I dont have them at hand as I am at work sadly in the North Sea.
Have a good new year.

Hi I run 33 BFs now and have to use 1st gear on my 300tdi to pull away, with standard tyres I never had to use 1st. I also found that my speedo reads exact according to my sat nav, used to be about 5mph short.

I have not had the fuel sender/pick up pipe off on a 200tdi but I do know that some are fitted with an NRV which if it has one may be faulty, some have also a filter on the end that could be blocked.
Also look at lift pump.
Just a thought.

Hi and welcome.
Most or the replacement light is a straight fit – plug in and yer away.
Easy job if there is no rust in the headlight bezel.

Hi I just got hold of a second hand security cubby box which I have built a 1” box frame to fit it with.
The frame is in the shape if an H and uses the original centre seat fixings.
All was going well till I went and put into my 90 – due to the length of it (the one with 3 cup holder in the front like this http://www.safari-equip.co.uk/index.php?page=61
It was hitting the rear bulkhead
so moved it to clear , my question is how close should this be to the high/low gear stick.
It is in now but the padded section is to far back for an arm rest and the lid will not lock in the open position – does anyone have fitting instructions for one or these.
I know boxes have been covered and how to fit them but can find nothing about position.

I am with you western - gasket would be no use there and can not see the point of it. The oil seal holds the fluids back so the gasket would serve no purpose.
I have just overhalled one end of my axile and ordered all parts as per parts list and ther was no gasket.

That is very strange - I thought that the pump would supply a set pressure and volume of water and the nozzle restriction would be responsible for the pressure.
Strange why at the same volume of water there is not a better feed through a twin pipe system unless the pumps on the twin system dont supply the same volume of water as a single pump.

My 90 has plate plate oil seal no gasket

Thank you for all that, I think I will try the twin jets - I have a new one on order and have superglued the old one which seams to be holding so far.
Will just have to order another for when I remove the top of the dash.

Thank you for the replies - western do yours spray onto the window now and not just hit the bottom of the blades and is there enough force to feed four nozzles.

You dont need to take the tunel out to have a look, If I was you remove center seat and lift cover, get a good light and drop you head in the hole and you will be able to see what is happening. I did this and found all linkages working as they should but a bit loose on the pivots. The problem I had was the gear stick rubber boot or the plate that holds it in place.
The stick was hitting it before it engaged so removed the cover and filed about 2mm out of it.
Now works fine - I will do the linkages later as I plan to strip the thing down this year.
