  2. She's just coming up to 95K, will get a pump in the morning and see how it goes. Thanks
  3. Got a 300 tdi defender 90 and the fuel seems to be draining back to the tank over night as its a pain to start in the mornings but if i pump the fuel up on the lift pump before attempting to start its fine, any ideas? lift pump maybe? i have checked for leaks but cannot see any.
  4. Think i got mine from Paddocks, was a while ago and two of them (yep, the front two) are still in the glovebox!! if not VM specialist do them aswell.
  5. I had my intercooler flushed out when i did the rad, the intercooler was very dirty inside and out, many of the passage ways inside were blocked with oily gunk, it performed a bit better after, is not too bad but the turbo lag is still a tad annoying at times. Long live the VM!!
  6. Its under the black plastic cover behind the washer bottle mounted on the bulkhead, i thinks its the outer one of the two if i remember correctly. if yours is the same as mine there is only two relays under the cover, and they dont look like the picture. Glad sombody elase has a VM, mine has been good as gold (once i cleaned half an oak tree of leaves from the rad!) and it gets a hell of beasting, is also used as a daily commute, i can even beat my brothers 200 tdi disco off the lights!! Baz
  7. FIXED IT, HOOORAH!! Had to strip the dash out to trace a thousand wires, found that the load relays for the windows, sunroof, and the heater blower along with a power supply to the stereo were not getting ignition "on" juice to activate them, seems strange as most of the other relays relays and wot not also activated from the same white and orange wire from the ignition switch were working fine but not these , so i ran new wires to each of them and hey presto it all works again. And the clock had packed up just for the hell of it!!! maybe a soledered joint playing up or summin? i even connected a wire to the zuki fuel tank and that works fine aswell
  8. She's FIXED! turns out the following happened 1, When she was plugged onto the computer, somehow the Alternator regulator threw its hand in. 2, that led to approx 17 volts being thrown all over place, 3, Gearbox ECU complained about this and burnt a Diode out. this led to the problems engaging any form of drive. Solution 1, a new diode was fitted to the ECU (clever bloke) 2, new alternator fitted, 3, fired 'er up, in gear and off she went, SWEET! 4, original problem of the ABS and TC light flashing still there, but a quick reset of the sensors and stuff, problem gone Thanks to WEST 4x4 for sorting it.
  9. you got a point, its a path to go down but why would the warnings be coming up?
  10. wonder how long the LR designers laughed over that idea? I know, lets put all the earths on the tow hitch!!!
  11. well, where do i start? first off when you hit the brakes hard the following lights came on - TC, ABS, Brake warning But it all worked OK, tried and tested, until the day it went to the doctor! once plugged in to the computer, no faults were showing anywhere, car or computer. Once un plugged, he jumped in it, popped into reverse, nothing happened, the selection light went to R, the engine revved as though in nuetral but nout worked, tried in drive, same light went to D and nout happened, stilled revved fine. When he tried P an the box made some nasty noises and the following warning were flashed up - TC failure, ALT failure, Fuse 22 failure and the trns case was showing no gear selected. symptons same in hi and lo, fuse 22 checked, no fuse present!!!! put one in no change. tried the usual disconnect batt leave for a bit a reconnect still same. ECU maybe? or just plain ol P38 every day driving?!?!? Any help will be gratefully recieved. Baz PS. P38 for sale very soon!
  12. Help, my brothers P38 4.6 HSE started out with a bunch of warning lights coming on everytime he hit the brakes, checked all the usual but no probs found, so on the computer it went at the garage, no problems found so off the computer it came......... and now it wont friggin move! put er into gear (auto) and nothing happens! what the freak is going on? any ideas? Baz
  13. Thanks for ideas, reckon it could well be the earths giving me probs, all the rear lights work but i put a new earth point in for those and left the earth wires still in the loom within the cab, will post the findings (when i get home in a couple of weeks) Bazza
  14.
