  1. Hello! I have now nearly finished my Series 3 off roader. The front leaf sping is snapped so before I put it in for its MOT I want to get myself some Parabolics. Its main purpose is for off roading, so I was wondering what Parabolics give the most lift and articulation. I will also be changing the shocks, so any advice on that side is good. Could you guys give me your opinions on your own or if you can reccomend me some. Links would be good. Dont really have a budget! Thanks in advance!
  2. Cheers guys, going to attack it tonight or tomorrow! I shall report back!
  3. Perfect, thats pretty much how mine looks now exept that I havnt attached the brakets yet. How come you have rotated your tubo? Thanks.
  4. Ahh, didnt know they were readily available like that. Do they come with the threaded ends aswel? Im quite new to all this and its a large learning curve!
  5. Im guessing I have been a bit luckier than you then. Turned out I was fitting the exaust wrong. The first pipes have to go above the gearbox crossmember, which then pretty much pulled it all inline and straight. Its not going to be easy getting the clamps fitted and I may have to cut the tail pipe slightly as that seems a bit long atm, but its nowhere near as bad as I originally thought! They were very helpful on the phone. Could have done with a small diagram to give a rough idea on the routing. Steve did say the exhust followed the existing series exhaust routing, but that didnt help as it hasnt had an exhaust for 8months!
  6. Hello! I have nearly sorted the wiring for my 200Tdi, the main thing now is to connect the fuel lines and fit rads, pipes e.t.c. The Series was origanally a 2.25 petrol. I cannot get the existing fuel lines to reach the engine, so I was wondering how people go around this problem? Can you buy extended lines? Fittings e.t.c? I would also need a fuel return to the tank. I have searched but cannot find a brake line that will attach to my tank, which has the 90 degree elbow. Not sure if I would have to go second hand of a Diesel Series? I was also wondering if I would need any longer pipeing for the intercooler, radiator e.t.c. I have both Series and Disco rads avaiable. Im guessing I would have to use the Disco rad due to the built in intercooler. I have a Defender front if that makes much difference. Thanks in advance!
  7. In these pics, both pipes are held up where they roughly should be. If they are attached (the backbox is directly above the axle and the exit pipe would be through the wheel. Dont know whats going on here....well gutted
  8. Evening all! Recently splashed out £300 on a Steve Parker exhaust. Really couldnt be bothered making one, and faniced a quick, easy job fitting it. I have spent the last 3-4hours trying different ways to get it to join, sit right but with no luck. The tube seams to run along side the chassis, right between the axle bump stops which is obviously not right, then the exit sits pretty much central near the wheel which means it then fouls up on the tyre/rim. Has any one bought one before and fitted it ok, or any problems? Or could someone maybe upload a few pics of there one so I can see how it goes together, or even if I have the right bits. Looking on his internet site, all my bits seem to be there. Will give them a call tomorrow and see what they say, but I really am lost, and cant see anyway to fit properly at the mo?!?! Heres the link to the exhaust: http://www.steve-parker.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=EXHS3SWBDVY200&cat=240 Starting to wish I had made one now! HELP!
  9. Thanks! Just getting round to ordering this now! Is it a 9inch or 9.5inch I would need? Im looking here! : http://www.mm-4x4.com/land-rover-series-2-2a-3---gearbox--transmission-56-c.asp Thanks!
  10. Seems as if my local Land Rover place have let me down as they can only get britpart series cluctch, which im not interested with, expecially with the TDi engine. Can anyone recommend a decent quality clutch to go with my TDi engine? Not to bothered on the price.
  11. Would I need a TDi or a Series 3 spigot bush? Im fitting a Disco 200 TDi to a Petrol series 3 box if that makes a difference. Im guessing there easy to come by? Thanks for the suggestion! Well worth replacing bits whilst its all apart!
  12. No, its not going anywhere near the engine! I was wondering how many litres I would have left after replacing the oil in the axles, gearbox (my old series 3 box), transfer box (same again) and even the steering box like you suggested. Not sure how I would drain that?
  13. Perfect, thanks for that! Clutch is ordered and should be here on Wednesday, so hopefully I can then drop the lump in!
  14. Well I have 20literes. Not sure how much that will cover me regarding the gearbox/transfer box, axles e.t.c.?!?! Im fitting a TDi engine with GL5 oil, so I can be the test on this myth!
  15. Hi Guys, Im currently doing a 200 TDi conversion on my petrol Series 3. I have read thorugh the guide but cant determine wheither I need a petrol clutch or the diesel clutch to attach onto my TDi engine? My series 3 was originally a 2.25petrol. So I dont know wheither thats ok to use again or if I have to buy a series 3 diesel clutch? I will be re-newing no matter what, but I dont know what one to order. Any prefrences to what make would be best, or if I need to get an uprated clutch? Or is a bog standard clutch ok? It wont start slipping e.t.c. Thanks in advance!
  16. Nice one. Managed to get it fitted? That pic looks nasty!
  17. Will see what happens. They havnt got to last me much longer anyway.
  18. I hope so, as I have already ordered it!
  19. Absolutely perfect! Thank you very much!
  20. Perfect! I will get it ordered now! For my next question....how do you fill the gear box and transfer box back up with oil? From memory, I think I have seen the drain plugs at the bottom! Its just getting the stuff back in thats my problem! Im guessing you fill the axles back up using the plug on the side? And fill it all the way up? I really am a N00b for all this! Thanks!
  21. Well after rebuilding my axles I need to re-fill the axles with oil. Now reading back through here I know I need EP-90. But you can get different types. Im not sure what type tho, apparently you can use the same oil for the gearbox? As I may aswel give that a change aswell. I have found Smith & Allan EP 80w/90 Gear Oil API GL5 20 ltr for £44 delivered: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370338395554&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT is that the right stuff? I may awell get a load as I have disco axles ready to go on next year and various other Land Rovers within the family. Thanks in advance!
  22. Alright Nick! Did you get yourself an axle sorted?
